34 countries use mail-in voting.
Trump lies. He knows he’s lying. Most of us know he’s lying. But his low-information MAGA supporters believe him. SMH.

The fixation on it though points up to me the idea that the fix is in with Palantir and Peter Thiel and voting machines. If there’s no paper trail they can play games. So long as they keep it a plausibly close win there will be no re counts. Stupid that Trump brings this up every time he has a conversation with Putin. Even on unrelated topics. Maybe he no longer needs Russian hacking. But Trump is Putins pet where JD Vance belongs to Thiel.
Peter Theil will run DC once martial law is declared. Oligarchs will run the major cities.

Trump is becoming a totalitarian ruler.

She lives in Georgia. DC is going to be like an internment zone.

This is so ho-hum and unremarkable

Can you believe that Fox knew the 2020 election
wasn't stolen, and presumably for the sake of ratings,
lied about it. Yet in waiting rooms all over the
country, patrons are exposed to this excrement.

Tell your sister to NOT let the Orange Idiot steal her joy. Her not attending Howard’s homecoming would be a win for Trump.

I’ll be at homecoming as usual…and we’ll fine.

Restaurant business is apparently falling off as a result of the increased police/military presence. Even for August, street and sidewalk traffic looks way too low. It's like he's trying to kill DC in every way.

Blacks get systematically driven out of the iner cities.

Small businesses will fail, and their owners and investors leave.

Billionaires buy all the vacated lots after the ICE, MPD, and military/guard have sanitized the area

Some will live in luxurious extravance thereafter.

This sounds preposterous and extreme. I believe this is coming to fruition because people are too afraid, and others love to see minorities castigated. I never knew the depths of hatred in most MAGA until now.

They care about money and White nationalism under their cult leader, Trump.

Look for MAGA to start pushing for Federal tax exempt status for DC residents to offset lack of congressional representation, turning DC into a billionaire tax haven, further forcing minorities out and switching DC’s electoral votes to the GOP.

DC is a toilet in every which way. I spent 9 years there between college and work and the crime was rampant and everywhere. Just because one may hate Trump and the conservative side does not mean you have to poo poo on every single decision they make. The mayor and dc legislators were doing nothing to combat the insane crime rate, DC police were overwhelmed, if the National guard presence can deter these lowlifes from hurting others, good, bring it on and in droves.

You must have missed the part where I said I spent 9 years in DC. Receiving end of 2 attempted car jackings just sitting at a traffic light. Not to mention loved ones who were pistol whipped, car got broken into, chased with a gun after witnessing a robbery, thrown to the ground for a purse, and jumped after coming back from a bible study meeting. Ladies and gentlemen, DC. The city is a cesspool and needs to be fixed, what Trump doing, is applaud worthy. DC is one of the only places where the few bad apples sentiment doesn't apply; most in DC are degenerates.

Most of this happened at or around Howard's campus, so the fact that people are saying may not go to homecoming is craziness. If anything, this is motivation to now go.

When was this, the 90s? Most of us on this board live in DC and I don't recognize the city you're describing.

Every decade actually since my family immigrated here, from the 70s to the 2020s. When you break it down per capita, the true stats on how bad DC is surfaces, not the manufactured stats they manipulated

Yeah I mean I sort of have mixed feelings, I definitely wouldn't call DC a cesspool, the majority of it is really nice, I live in Dupont though. I have a RE company and we get robbed all the time, at least we used to. We had a guy come onto one of our job sites with a gun. This was during the pandemic when you could feel how dangerous the city had become. But for the most part I feel completely safe in 2025. 2022 not so much.

Im sorry you've had to deal with that, there is zero rationale and excuses for criminal behavior like that. And it's pretty much a certainty that none of those criminals ever got punished with jail time for what they did, just like the folks who did what they did to my loved ones. So if the National Guard's presence can prevent other people from experiencing such incidents, I'm for it. We're better off and maybe I'd consider going to DC again and spending money on businesses there.

I don't think we are better off for it.

The National Guard's is not focusing on the high-crime areas, particularly Wards 7 and 8, where the majority of violent crime occurs. Crime rates in Washington, D.C. have been declining since you left with violent crime reaching a 30-year low.

And it is going to cost $1M per day. This administration is spending like a drunken soldier.

We are now on track to have $40T in debt by the end of this Administration. That is FAR more dangerous than deterring violent crime in non-violent crime areas.

2022 wasn't safe because unemployment had risen. Well, this Administration is driving us that way.
