Re: Political Roundtable Part XVI
I recommend this it is a long read and very detailed but outlines the likely scenario of Trump and the Russians.

Has any trump worshipper been able to articulate why they are in favor of the tax bill and net neutrality. I'm curious on the common mans perspective without the memes.

Great read. It really lays out the timelines, motivations and actions of the Trump campaign and their entanglements with Russia. Hell this was before the whole Flynn news broke out. Now there's a tighter case for a number of laws that were broken. The only thing that saves Trump is if Republicans maintain control of Congress.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Some good news VA reversed not funding Vets Homeless Program.
This doesn't absolve the administration for trying to.

The tax bill should lower one of the main distortions in our tax system by reducing the corporate income tax, which discourages certain forms of compensation to shareholders because it gets taxed twice, and also encourages corporations to locate their legal headquarters overseas, meaning we lose ALL of the revenue.
The good things from this bill are an accidental side-effect of a huge cash grab by the billionaire class, a curse on all their souls.
From a business' perspective, net neutrality allows you to bundle really valuable things with other crap products and force people to spend money on the crappy stuff to get access to the good stuff. Like when HBO makes you subscribe to the whole crappy portfolio just to get access to GOT and Westworld. Imagine that business model applied to the entire internet.
I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.

Just posting this because I've seen this argument from many on the right.
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XVI
Dude, you think this is a joke? It's unbelievably stupid to do that now if he actually cares about what's going on. But he doesn't care, like you dont - right? - because doing it now is likely going to reverse any progress and cause a lot more violence. Yes, the other presidents didn't follow through, but that was because they actually thought it through. He did it because he didn't f'n care. He just wanted to be able to say he did something the others didn't. Do you have any concept of why that's an idiotic and dangerous reason to do it?

I'm not a Trump worshiper and his personal behavior disgusts me but I did vote for him so I'll try to give you "a common mans perspective."
Our livelihoods, both in the public and private sectors, are almost completely dependent on private sector business activity. It stands to reason that we should continually seek to strengthen that part of the economy. Lowering business taxes makes us more competitive and should have a positive effect on job creation and preservation. There is bipartisan support for this type of tax reform. I'm a layman and there are smarter and more educated posters here that could do a better job answering your question but as far as I know I'm the only one that voted for Trump (and that's the perspective you asked for.)
As far as the individual tax reform component, I'll wait until the two plans are merged before I form an opinion.
I've read a dozen articles, both pro and con about net neutrality, and to be honest, I'm not sure what to think. I am concerned about the size and reach of google (and other large tech/media companies) so that's in the back of my mind when considering net neutrality. Again there are other posters here that would do a much better job with this question.
