This is important because it's a civil trial and the law permits negative inferences from taking the fifth, unlike in criminal proceedings. Prosecutors are deliberately coordinating parallel civil and criminal proceedings, which the Trump legal team tried to take advantage of, but it's a standard workaround of the fifth amendment that prosecutors use all the time.

Love how this is bringing out all the flaws in our current justice system! Love to see it finally used against a rich person!

Trump's lawyer didn't earn any favors with the judge who described some of
their positions as Orwellian, out of a Lewis Carroll novel (words mean what
I say they do) or preposterous. I don't see Golfy or his kids helping themselves
on the stand. If they take the 5th, ads will quickly be made juxtaposing tRump
saying only guilty people do that with him doing that (assuming video of the trial
is available, which perhaps isn't). The NYAG has a clear opp to become an
international folk hero if things continue to go her way. It would be rich
to see the tRumps get taken down by a woman of color. Stay tuned.

about the horrifying situation in Yemen.

All the money from arms sales in the world could never justify the atrocity of what
