I've always viewed Simmons the same way that I view Kornheiser---entertaining and humorous but not much depth or real sports knowledge.

Kornheiser is humorous ?

Last time I thought he was funny, the Redskins were going to a Superbowl. That my friend is a long time ago.

The day you start proudly announcing your similarities in opinion with Bill Simmons....

just put the keyboard down and tell us how you would like your crow prepared.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Here is a great article on what Wall still needs to work on: http://www.bulletsforever.com/2012/3/13 ... s-vs-spurs

Quite interesting looking at Wall's month by month production. He's improved in almost every category for every month he's played so far this season.

^^^ Yup.

I'm amazed that Wall, despite the horrendous start to the season, has a PER of almost 19, shooting almost 44% from the field.

not sure about how you should rate his deficiencies

seems to me his jumper has looked better at times this year
although I would still say/agree he needs a respectable 3, which he has not shown.
High TO rate is a serious deficiency. This continues to be a problem.
It could be argued that shooting is more correctable because you
can always turn down bad shots ie shots you don't make at a high rate.
TOs, for a PG, are a big deal. Your job (duh) is to handle the ball.

For an uptempo player like Wall, a high TO rate is just going to come with the territory. Westbrook, Nash, Deron Williams are turning it over just as much as Wall. Rondo and Rose are often up there as well.

That being said, when you watch the games you can see that he does have a penchant to make idiotic passes at times. If he can get to 9 apg and cut the TOs from 4 to 3-3.5, I'll be happy.

A goog article about Wall's improved jumpshot. In sumary, over the 1st 22 games of the season, Wall shot .219 from 16-23 feet. Over the last 21 games, he has hit .427.

Not sure where to put this so i decided to put it here. Some people comment about Wall's lack of IQ. Here is a breakdown of Westbrook's poor IQ. This guy dogs Westbrook over and over for his decision making. He also has some nice words for Harden and Green for the Spurs.

Jeez it's the Spurs. No excuse for Westbrook but every young pg looks foolish against that.

Anyhow there's some good video on Dirk and how he post up a lot in the authors videos. I remember trying to explain to some posters here that post play is very relevant in today game. They just didn't recognize it but maybe this will explain it to them when it's in their faces! You will see the same sets for Kobe, Pierce and Melo.

Man, I might throw max money at Harden. So underrated. Would be an awsome pairing with John Wall. He's a flat out A+ home run signing.
Et tu Bilas.

Ive seen a few threads on teh Trade Board regarding Harden, the consensus seems to be (among OKC fans) that ownership is willing to go well into lux tax territory in order to keep Durant/Westy/Harden together, and even Iblocka the next year, but I think they are being overly optimistic and are overstating the "deep pockets" of Clay Bennett and co.

The Suns were saying the same thing about JJ back in '05. They are never going to say "we can't afford this guy so we have to get rid of him".

Meanwhile, a third rookie PG has displaced a starting caliber NBA PG and made a major impact as a rookie in Isaiah Thomas. (Kyrie Irving/Ramon Sessions) (Ricky Rubio/Luke Ridnour/JJ Barea) (Isaiah Thomas/Tyreke Evans).

"Making a huge impact in his rookie season" per SLAM Magazine.
http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2012/03/coming-up-big/

Before Thomas entered the starting lineup, Sacramento’s offense was stagnant and a lack of play-calling resulted in ill-advised isolations and forced jump shots. The Kings’ offense started to resemble a game of H-O-R-S-E rather than anything involving an actual team.

Tyreke Evans has never been a point guard. Good for Thomas, though!

Of course... what the heck does any of that have to do with appreciating John Wall?

Absolutely nothing..JJ's just giving Thomas all the credit for leading the Kings to a 3-7 record over their last 10 games and challenging the assists leaderboard by averaging 5 assists per game as a starter on a team with far less talent than the Wizards.

Irving sure has had a huge impact leading the Cavs to a possible playoff spot..... Oh wait they have only 17 wins. Never mind.
