I bet EG and Glenn Rice Sr. were buddies.

I for one like the GRJR pick, while his character is a bit questionable, he seems to be a player that can be useful to the team as a backup 2 or 3. You need a player or two on your team that has some dirt underneath their fingernails.

If you agree with a move made by EG on this board, you will be shunned for life. :D

Yea. You've got to be careful about saying you like any of the moves made by the Zards FO.

Rice is flawed. So is my guy Gary Neal, a Towson guy who found his way with the Spurs and still can't dribble or defend that well. But I'd take him here. GRIII has to earn his minutes, has to defend to play under Witt and make shots.

This seems like a "BPA" pick to me. He actually fills a small need at backup swingman but I still Muscala or Pierre were the way to go. I think they either think nobody is better than Price (which is kind of depressing if true) or they think Tomas will be worth a crap this year. To be perfectly frank, Outside of Pierre, I didn't think any backup pg will change the fortunes of this franchise in the 2nd round.

For all the flak they're taking, I think they've had an excellent draft.

With that pick I'm thinking what if I'm wrong about Bennett and Cleveland killed it?

Karasev is a good player.

Cavs were the worst defensive team in the NBA last year. Brown is a good defensive coach, but Bennett's weakness is on D as Dat has scouted.

I think everyone and their mother scouted that.

Well I love the Otto pick of course.

I also like what Utah has done this draft.

The Rice pick... I really wanted Murphy. Withey, Wolters, Muscala, Green were some others I would of liked.

Also, who woulda thought Solomon Hill would go so high.

It never fails. Every year, people freak out over the second round. How many second rounders turn into anything more than bench bodies? 4-5 per draft?

I thought the knock on Karasev was that he's a bad defender.

So if my math is correct, the Nets now have almost 33 million in payroll incoming for the next two years.

Out goes Gerald Wallace's 10 million annually for three years (yikes that's a horrible contract).

Humphries's 12 million expiring.

Reggie Evans's 1.6 million for two years.

Keith Bogans, who isn't even under contract for next year?

And Tornike Shongelia's 700k expiring.

This trade works? Brooklyn takes on 11 million in extra salary which puts them well over 90 million in payroll next season. They are going to get raped by the luxury tax.

Perfectly satisfied with this draft. Came away with Porter and Rice. Can't be mad about that...much better than that guy "Cash" we always seem to drafting in the 2nd round.

I was just happy that we didn't trade a pick for cash or take a slow point guard like Shelvin Mack. Rice can run the floor with Wall and Porter. I guess we can add another FA or 2 assuming Webster is not back.

Can't really argue with that....IF GRJr is the backup SG and we resign Webster, I'm nutting in my pants. I was never one looking for a big. OKAFOR, SERAPHIN and a healthy NENE and BOOKER are great for 2013/2014. If injuries factor in, then our 2014 draft is likely where it is today.

Looks like the 54th was Kazemi, that iranian dude. Only guy I really wanted to take a chance on by trading up was Mitchell, I might be salty about that one for a bit.
