I still think our pick gets traded this off-season if it's anything but top 4. JG, Suggs, Cade, Mobley--any of those guys you keep pretty easily. Tommy has an out this summer where there's a number of *young* players that could be available this summer for a high pick that could potentially spark the current roster to "success" (along with other moves) *or* be core players in the face of a rebuild. Allen, Turner, Collins, Sabonis, Markannen, Sabonis, etc. Best of both worlds scenario for the FO. Move Brown for a 2nd and an expiring to free up more cap.

Long term value of a guy like Collins, Allen, Markannen, etc is probably higher than whoever we can draft outside of the top 4/5 players in this draft. Even if it's just to trade the asset again down the road.

I disagree. Kuminga has tremondous value. Also, having a player on a rookie contract when you're already paying Beal and Westbrook max deals is very valuable and preserves flexibility. Especially seeing how we are likely going to have to give Brad the super max. The only way I consider trading our draft pick is if the 3rd player we add is someone you can look at and say, "Ok, now we are a championhsip team." If they aren't a top 10 to 15 player I don't even consider it. You draft best player available, and continue to develop the team.

No. Wrong in every particular I'd say. For example -- how would you add Jarrett Allen (who is going to get $20m/year) to a team paying $94m to 3 players?

I’d love the wizards to get their hands on Bol Bol. I feel like he could be something very special and the Washington link from his father would be nice.

I think he could become a special player.

A Troy Brown Jnr for Bol Bol straight up works. But I think Denver would want more.

You think they'd want more? You think he could be "special?"

Bol Bol has played 93 minutes this year. 93 absolutely awful, truly horrible minutes.

Last year he played 87 minutes. 87 truly awful, absolutely horrible minutes.

Bol bol was the bust that was never given the chance to bust. He sucks and I wouldn't touch him in a trade.

Well, that’s the start of things. Delon Wright goes for a couple 2nd round picks. Gotta think Bertans could return something similar.

Not sure I understand that trade for Detroit. Definitely do for Sac'to. Delon Wright has been a much better player than Cory Joseph over the last few years, & he costs less too.

The R2 picks make a difference, obviously -- but 1 of them is from the Lakers this year, so it'll be an extremely low pick, the kind you can buy for maybe $1m.

Javale Mcgee goes for a couple protected 2nds. Seems like a sellers market thus far.

I think Cleveland did well on that trade, nat -- they're in total rebuild mode, & Javale was expiring & not coming back. They turned that into 2 R2 picks plus Hartenstein who is still only 22.

Agreed. Seems like a great move by Cleveland. Apparently they really liked Hartenstein last off-season.

Definitely a sellers market. The play in tournament and the new lottery odds have really diminished the number of teams willing to sell and tank.

Being one of the few sellers would be smart. The Wizards are not smart.

I bet we could get a couple 2nds for Bertans and another one for Lopez and maybe even Neto.

We’ll see how things play out. Reports say that Lopez and Bertans are available now.

Wow. There’s another one. Orlando gets out of paying 30 year old Vucevic for the next 2 years and gets Wendell Carter and two 1st round picks.

Wow!

2 firsts from the Bulls is a pretty good haul.

Yeah, as much as I admire Vuc, this was a great move by Orlando and a huge risk by Chicago - especially if those picks are unprotect4ed. Chicago's going to be a fun offensive team, but can they defend anyone now? Seems to me, you only trade for Vuc if you're a championship contender, and Chicago just isn't that at 19-24.

Orlando has 2 young centers now: Carter and Bamba. I wish Wiz could somehow get Bamba for Brown (+ a 2nd if needed). I still love his potential.

I also bet that there'll be a report about how a team X was willing to trade for Westbrook but Wiz didn't listen (remember Wall to Lakers?). :D
