As the season goes, there will be buyers and sellers. Maybe we get what we need.

TBJ and Bonga are each 21 years old have proven to be very effective when given the minutes. Those guys have value and I wouldn't trade them away for a minor upgrade at backup center.

You should never trade value for a center unless you are talking about an extremely good one. Why trade away Brown and Bonga for a center when the following centers will be available in free agency this summer:

Dieng
Zeller
Theis
Noel
Holmes
Biyombo
Whiteside

These guys are available every year.

Every player on your team should be available in a trade. All of them no matter who it is. It just depends on the deal.

So, sure, if we can get some number of players who have, combined, a better future than 3 of our guys (no matter which three), of course we should do it! All other things being equal (salary obligations, ages, etc.).

But, that's not an argument in favor of, or against, any trade. So... whom are we trading these 3 guys for?

I like Bamba, but that's too much to give for him. Forget Wagner -- Bonga & TBJr. are too much to give for him. IMO.

Little to no interest in Reddish as a primary piece of a Beal trade.

I think this is a somewhat realistic trade (apologies if someone else has posted it):

Beal and Robinson for Okongwu, Hunter, Huerter (41% 3 point shooter), and Snell (expiring filler). We can throw in another low salary or 2.

ehhh. Its not a terrible fall back option, but that package is a bunch of mediocrity. I loved Okongwu, but that foot injury is concerning and Id want more detail. Hunter appears to be a good player, but how does he fit in with Deni, Rui, Bonga and even Bertans. Huerter isnt a starter.

I guess my main issue issue is that it floods our front court with 4 SF/PF's and 2 Centers.. but our backcourt would be bare.
Again, if this ended up being the trade I wouldn't be up in arms, but it seems to keep our ceiling lower and redundant skill set.

I also question if Atl would do that. They appear to want to play Trae with 3 wings that can defend. Putting Beal next to Trae seems like a poor use of resources.

Hunter has been a good player for 7 games, need to see more. Huerter will be a due for another contract, and isn’t a very good defender, also has only been good this season, small sample size. Okongwu has the injury questions. It would be a solid deal, but I think we need to get a big centerpiece back in a Beal trade. Hunter is a role player, Huerter is a rotation piece, Okongwu is a Capela type C at best.

I couldn't do it. Those aren't blue chip prospects. None of those guys are 1st or 2nd options. They are all role players. Maybe future starters but 4th or 5th option types. Its trading $1 for 3 quarters.

Beal's a real good player, but I think you guys are being fans - over-estimating his trade value and under-estimating each of the Hawks players I suggested.

Paul George netted three 1st round picks, SGA, and Gallinari.

If Beal doesn’t demand a trade, and things don’t sour, we should be looking to acquire multiple first round picks and young core pieces with star potential.

At this point if we doing it do it big. Trade beal to the hawks, heat, GS, or the pells. I think they have the best young talent to pick from and plenty of picks. Trade russ to NYK for Noel and cap filler. Trade burtans for something probably to Boston or maybe a team that misses out on beal or trade him with beal. Trade ish robinson and maybe lopez to teams with tpe looking for bench help for ham sandwichs and move on with a young core and cap room.

I’m sure it has been posted, but something centered around Herro, Achiuwa, and multiple 1sts (2022, 2024) is an idea.

The nuggets could be interesting with Porter Jr/Bol Bol/Monte Morris

Boston has the pieces with picks+some combo of Edwards/Pritchard/Williams/Langford

Boston doesn't have anything close to a centerpiece for Beal. If they don't include Jaylen Brown, I'm hanging up the phone.

I'm moderately interested in MPJ plus picks, but his injury history concerns me.

The Miami package is probably the baseline for a Beal trade. I think we could do better, but I wouldn't be apoplectic if that's what we got.

The best package would be from Golden state. Wiseman plus two 2021 1sts, plus a bunch of unlikely future pick swaps.

New Orleans has a bunch of future picks to trade, but they're all from Milwaukee or Los Angeles, so they may all be picks higher than #25, barely better than 2nd round picks.

I'd still take a straight up Ben Simmons swap.

Absolutely. Really, it's just over-estimating him.

I'd say it's hard to "estimate" any of the first 3. But, above all, I don't understand why we wouldn't want to build the trade around Collins -- we have a much better idea of how good he is (etxremely!), & the Hawks are about to have trouble working out a deal with him, which lowers what they'd be able to get back for him.

This would increase our log-jam of Forwards. Since John Collins is a far better player than Rui (& only 4+ months older than him), he would certainly be our starting 4 -- so the logical follow-on move (though only a few here will be willing to entertain the idea) would be to trade Rui for a good young guard of about the same age.

Better yet would be a 3-team trade that got us Collins, a really good young guard, & maybe a pick -- in return for Beal & Rui.

I don't think Atl would be agreeable to trading Collins, but I could be wrong.

Do the Simmons trade, and then dump Westbrook on the Knicks. Go with a backcourt of Brown and Simmons. We'd have the biggest team in the NBA.

I think both of you underestimate being elite at the most important aspect of the sport. Putting the ball in the damn basket. 60 pts tonight. Will likely break 50 again at some point this season. How many guys average an efficient 30 ppg? That has tremendous value and cannot be easily replicated. He has a proven playoff record. He's an incredibly value commodity. Right now he's one of the most valuable in the league but yall wanna trade him for a pack of Newports and a case of natty light. :-?

That atlanta package is awful.

The best player i've seen as options are MPJ and Jaylen Brown. I don't think you can take back anyone less than these calibre of players.

Straight up Simmons swap? No way. They'd have to add Curry and their 2021 first to get me to consider that one.

And he had a -9 while Shake Milton and Seth Curry combined for 47. Why does it happen that guards like that have career games against the Wiz? What did he do in the 4th quarter with the game on the line? How many times have we seen that?
