I did the Draft Lottery Simulator, and the first pick went to the Washington Wizards!! Needless to say, I didn't bother to do it again. (lol)..... All signs are GREAT people. No need to get your tummies in a knot.
Fry your brains thinking about how our line-up will be on opening night. :)

Over the last month I've been cautiously optimistic about winning the lottery. It just felt so perfect, combining Wall and Davis and having our future set. But in the last day or so, especially after the announcement (or not?) of Wittman's return, and some questionable EG quotes about trading the pick, I've adapted a more pessimistic outlook. We're starting to feel like the old Wizards (mainly thanks to EG) in my head, and that means bad luck in this scenario. I'm not only feeling like we aren't going to win the lottery, but I'm afraid we're going to get stuck with the 4th or 5th pick, adding even more fuel to the fire that EG might trade the pick.

Then again, I don't think the lottery is rigged (at least anymore, still skeptical about 1985), and I know it's all up to chance (and we have a pretty good chance all things considered!). 9.5 hours away!!!! So close! This message board sure is going to be fun tonight, for better or worse.

My first time running the lottery was, like, historically bad:

Let's give it one more try ...

4: Beal (1: GSW, 3.6%)
3: Beal (1: TOR, 3.5%)
2: MKG (1: TOR, 3.5%)
2: MKG (1: NOH, 1.1%)
4: Beal (1: CLE, 13.8%)
4: Beal (1: NOH, 13.7%)
4: Beal (1: CHA, 25.0%)
5: Drummond (1: SAC, 7.6%)
3: Beal (1: CHA, 25.0%)
5: Drummond (1: HOU, 0.5%)

Um ... let's just pray that I'm hogging all the Wizards' bad luck.

I was feeling the #1 pick, now I'm sort of thinking the #3 pick. But what do I know?

Well, the lowest we can go is 5. Im praying for top 3 because I think the 3 guys we want by far is either Davis, MKG, or Beal. Ill settle for 4 because I think some team will probably snag Robinson before one of those 2 wings.

If we get 5 then I think we should probably trade down or trade it for a vet. I wouldnt be totally upset with Barnes or Lamb though. I still think Barnes has some Rudy Gay in him as to him being a better pro than College player.

I guess top 5 may be ok no matter what since alot of people are reporting that we are very high on Drummond. I dont want another raw knuckle head but I will say that he has the "look" that you want. Like even though Im high on Dray, he's always had a look to him that he will never be great. You just cant picture him being a key guy on a playoff team.

Drummond has that kinda Amare or Stephen Jackson of big men look to him. Like he has no fear and he will be a dominant guy no matter what because of that. Id still rather have the wings though

I'd rather pick 4th than to pick 2nd. At 2, you basically have to flip a coin on 3 or 4 guys whereas at 4, you could conceivably pick the best player available and figure it out later.

Working today helps, then the short commute home, then deal with the kids and dinner, before you know-it, it's 8PM.

BTW - Someone please fire-up the chat for tonight

I will really be holding my breath for the 5th pick. That is the one that really makes me nervous. Once we get past that, I''ll be more relaxed. I'd rather have 1-3, but can live with the 4th pick.

Agreed. 4th pick is far from ideal, and may in fact be just as bad for us as the 5th pick if Davis, Beal, and MKG are off the board when it's our pick, but at least for the next month there will be that slight glimmer of hope that one of the three teams ahead of us takes Robinson or Drummond so that Beal or MKG will fall to us.

Although, by the time picks 14-6 have been announced, we should have a much better idea of our chances at ending up 5th. If there are any teams that were originally slotted from picks 6-14 that have yet to be announced then our chances at #1 diminish and our chances at #4 or #5 increase. Worst case scenario is 3 teams that are slotted between picks 6-14 have already been skipped, meaning they got in the top 3. That would mean that we'd pick 5th automatically. If 2 teams slotted between 6-14 have already been skipped, then it's much less clear.

Bottom line: hope that the picks go in the exact order they're statistically supposed to go all the way up until the final 3. Just make it to the final 3 and it's a good outcome as far as I'm concerned.

Here's the real question...

Do I press pause in between pick announcements real quick to make sure I'm all caught up on what was supposed to happen and what actually happened? Or do I just watch it live and risk it moving too fast for me to keep up?

So many options...

I smell a #3 pick coming.

And a trade for savvy veterans.

Hope I'm wrong.

Me-too, every team knows that we are desperate to unload Blatche and are probably looking-past MKG and TRob.
