Horrendous coaching, personnel decisions, and game management tonight:

1) Where was Okafor in the 4th Quarter???? He was a stud tonight.
2) No offensive adjustments when the team was cold in 2nd half. No time outs? Price and Singleton on the floor at the same time??
3) Can't believe Price plays over Crawford. What does that say about Crawford??
4) Can't believe Singleton plays at all. Mediocre defensively and worse offensively. Bad handles. Low IQ (i.e. foul on Charlie V 3 pointer). Looks lost in half court set. Panics when passed the ball. Worse offensively than either Veseley or Booker. (True...worse than Veseley on offense. At least Veseley gets offensive rebounds, sets picks, passes the ball, has decent offensive IQ even though no J.) I hope the only reason Singleton is seeing PT is to showcase him for a trade. What does it say about Booker and Veseley that they can't see any burn over a bum like Singleton??

dang that loser kyrie only shot 2-16 for 6 points tonight in a loss to the spurs. wizards should have won so I could make fun of cavs fans and we could have passed them in the standings.

to be fair that 2011 draft was weak as F***. look at all the players taken after Vesely http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_NBA_Draft none have shown any promise of being legit nba players except for maybe shumpert, Isaih Thomas, Leonard & Klay thompson. none really have all star potential so far

Nene had 2 rebounds in 33 minutes.
Monroe had 18 rebounds in 34 minutes.

Emeka Okafor had 25 points (10-15FG), 9 rebounds but Wittman only played him 25 minutes.

Two guys who have killed the Wizards every time they've played did it again. Charlie V only took 6 shots but scored 11 points. He hit 3/4 3PT shots, and had a big 4-pt play that put Detroit ahead 71-70. Will Bynum destroyed Wall again, with 20 points, 8 assists in just 21 minutes.

Calderon hit 6/9 3PT shots.

I notice that Washington loses games where Emeka scores a lot early. Nene seems to put it on cruise control.

This game Wittman coached very poorly. Washington was up 63-55 and from there was outscored 41-18 after some really bad substitutions.

Add to that Nene got his butt kicked. Randy played him a lot of minutes despite him failing to board, but at the same time benched Okafor.

Worst coaching of the year by Randy.

What's the deal with not calling Time Out's?? Grade school coaches can see the need to stop the bleeding, but Whitmann just ignores it like he's saving those TO's for the 2 minute warning?? Strange behavior for an NBA coach.. Damn strange..

Detroit has a franchise calibre big man. Most nights the team with the better big men win. The only position where the wizards have a clear advantage is at shooting guard. That's about it.

Wall's shooting issues are unusual given that he is not a bad foul shooter. When he is on the line, he has nice pace and rhythm, uses his legs, shoots the ball on his way up before his arms are fully extended and before his legs have straightened, a decent arc, and good backspin. Heowever, when the ball is live, his mechanics are messed up, and it shouldn't take a brain surgeon to identify the flaws:

1) He shoots at the very top of his jump rather than on the way up. As a result, his arms are almost fully extended, the ball is released far from his body and above the level of his nose, and the shot is often too flat ...instead of shooting the ball from almost in front of his face with his elbows bent and tucked in. Therefore, he has little "touch" on shots outside of 15 feet and rarely gets a "shooter's bounce." That's also why he has no range out to the three point line. He is past the point of maximum usage of his legs because he releases the ball too late. Compare Wall's mechanics to a pure shooter's fundamentals like Larry Bird ( a guy who didn't get off the ground much on his J but had great range nonetheless).

2) Ever look where his left hand is on the ball just before releasing the shot?? It is almost on top of the ball instead of being more on the left side of the ball.

The Pistons went small with Charlie V. I guess Whitman felt that Okafor couldn't chase him on the perimeter.

But still: Okafor was *killing* them on the other end. Why not force them to adjust to our big lineup, and take Charlie out of the game?
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

I like Randy and I think he has done a good job this year, but he stunk tonight.

When they were up 63-55 he subbed in some folks. Seraphin had a couple turnovers. Charlie V lit up Chris Singleton. Not playing Okafor in the fourth as the Pistons got hot and the Wizards could not score was big. Nene with Okafor would have rebounded better.

Monroe was the best big man out there but Okafor was competing and should have played 33-35 minutes at least.

Now the Crawford benching is irritating me. Price was awful today. Beal was playing too many consecutive minutes...the offense needed a spark. Wy not play him??!!! I understand if a player being in the doghouse, but can anyone explain to me how Seraphin isn't in the doghouse? He is AWFUL and this shows a lack of consistency from Wittman.

Wall was ehhh...didn't like his energy to start. I've noticed that on the road at times he plays slower and likes to just run plays that feed the post. Almost like he's trying too hard to be under control. It also may have been him making a conscious effort to limit turnovers. I HATE iT. I could care less about the turnovers. I like when he applies pressure to the defense....I want him attacking and shooting early. When he doesn't, its hard for him to get going late in the game....his pressure opens things up on O.

I also hated nearly everything Wittman did today. It's laughable he didn't start Beal. I can't believe he was worried about hurting chemistry on a 15 win team. Maybe that mindset is why this team "lets success get to their heads"......

Btw, did I mention how much I hate Seraphn?

The one thing I will say is their smalls killed the Wizards. Wall has no outside shot. Beal wasn't hitting. Webster didn't play enough and didn't shoot enough to help. Ariza didn't shut anyone down.

Randy wasn't the only one who fell short.

Calderon should help Wall learn to shoot.

Exactly...losing coaches a play to match up versus the opponent versus playing their best team.

Or play Okafor over Nene!!!!

I guess Faried doesn't count then, Parsons is legit and Lavoy Allen is serviceable with PHI. Jimmy Butler has hella potential with CHI.
