I would still say Beal is performing better - but neither is performing very well.

If I were coach, my rotation would be:

C Gortat (36 min) Seraphin (12 min)
F Booker (28 min) Ariza (16 min) Seraphin (4 min)
F Ariza (20 min) Porter (12 min) Webster (16 min)
G Beal (36 min) Webster (8 min) Wall (4 min)
G Wall (32 min) Miller (16 min)

Wall, Gortat, Beal & Ariza: 36 minutes
Booker: 28 minutes
Webster: 24 minutes
Seraphin & Miller: 16 minutes
Porter: 12 minutes

I'd monitor Webster & Porter's minutes closely. If Webster continues to struggle because of injury or Porter doesn't take advantage of the opportunity, I'd give Rice some minutes as well.

So you wouldn't give Harrington some spot minutes? I doubt Gortat will be able to play 36 minutes a game.

No. I'd rather run Gortat into the ground than play Harrington 30 seconds.

Actually if it was my choice I'd probably cut Harrington.

If I had to I'd give Seraphin more minutes or whoever we sign a few minutes.

^I wouldn't go that far. Harrington isn't a great or good player by any stretch but he has a skill our other 4/5s don't have. In spot duty or when we are really struggling offensively he might provide a spark for a few minutes. Look at the Brooklyn game from earlier this year. We were down 16-6 and Al came in and immediatley jump started the offense and got us back into the game. The PROBLEM is Randy then stuck with Al for far too long, allowing his weaknesses to eventually show.

I think its Seraphin's time. He showed potential at the end of year two but has been stuck in reverse until very recently. He's had these slight upward ticks the last few weeks but now with the spotlight back on him I want to see what he's learned and if he's prepared to play when teams actually gameplan for him or will he force shots and struggle to pass out of double teams.

Harrington is a black hole, bad defender, bad rebounder, doesn't do anything particularly well.

I want Porter to be worked in, but don't think its likely. If Webster continues to provide mediocre production I'd start cutting into his time with more Miller/Wall in the backcourt. I'd give a few more minutes to Seraphin and would dial Gortat back about 2-3 minutes and Booker back to about 25 minutes. Using your model here's what I think will shake out (not what I'd necessarily do):

C Gortat (34 min) Seraphin (14 min)
F Booker (24 min) Ariza (8 min) Seraphin (8 min) Al Harrington (8)
F Ariza (28 min) Webster (20 min)
G Beal (36 min) Webster (4 min) Wall (8 min)
G Wall (28 min) Miller (20 min)

So just one healthy C left. I wonder who backs up Gortat. Anyone have a link explaining Seraphins absence?

That's okay Ernie. Take your time filling that roster space. Just because Booker is the closest thing you have to a backup center right now and... oh yeah, Booker is also your starting PF right now... doesn't mean you should keep your lunch break under the 3 hour usual.

Btw, what does Ernie's staff do all day - other than read our posts?

ORL is a team we can get away with in having seraphin out though. Outside of Nikola (who isn't a juggernaut) they have no real physical presence down low....I guess maybe maxiell, but he's essentially another Booker type of player.

I just hope Seraphin will be ok long term.

Small ball really is the only possibility at this point. I think we see Harrington at Center and a fair amount of Singleton at PF. Also probably a fair amount of 3 guard line-ups.

You mean the guy averaging 15 and 10 that 7-0 250 and only 23 years old.

I think they are going to need more then Booker. Time to go small and stretch them out with TA at S4.

Play Gortat 48 minutes.

Amazing. Traded Ves and didn't even draft a center. #goEG
