^ I'm at least somewhat hopeful that Abrams and other like minded folks will
be working very hard to help voters resist the efforts to disenfranchise them
and possibly be even more determined to vote. Everyone needs to understand
that the return to the bad old days is as close as one bad election away.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I am pretty sure Trump has threatened to kill Weisselberg if he turns. Look at how terrified Paul Manafort was.

I went onto Fox News web site and YouTube to see if they had anything on the Trump Org indictment and could find nothing, truly Orwellian.

It is just an entertainment site. Apparently bad news for Trump is not entertaining.

Appalling ruling, it was intellectually dishonest legal hard-splitting. I promise you this, if Republicans were in the exact same position as the Dems are currently and a Republican President wanted to get bills passed, Mitch would try to ditch the filibuster rule.

They basically said a little discrimination is fine as long as they can assure
people there's no fraud, when there was no evidence of fraud to begin with.

It’s worse than that they argued that disenfranchisement of voters is fine as long as you don’t make it explicit that it’s because of race. But if the large portion of Democratic voters are black and Latino, then by default if you’re hurting voters it’s going to be racist.
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/7/1/us-supreme-court-rules-in-favor-of-voter-restrictions
I mean it doesn’t get more blatant than this:
Arizona Republicans said in court papers that voting restrictions have partisan effects and impact elections. Invalidating the out-of-precinct policy would reduce Republican electoral prospects because it would increase Democratic turnout, they told the justices during March 2 arguments in the case.
So much for the Supreme Court being staunch observers of the constitution. John Roberts is an absolute arsonist.

another thought I had about SCOTUS decision was that they don't appear
to understand that voter suppression is basically working to insure
what is in effect, a fraudulent outcome, ie one that doesn't comport
with the preferences of the eligible voters.
We are fully on the path to a kleptocratic authoritarian form of govt.

The SCOTUS is 100% wrong and I can't find any Constitutional support, but they are consistent. Their opinion is politics should be controlled by money, not people.

The Conservatives on the Supreme Court do not care about the people or even the letter of the law. Like all good Republicans they only care to reinforce Republican political power and corporate power. Like Republican politicians all the other issues are just a distraction.

Funny how fiscal responsibility and Rule of Law went out the window for the GOP when Trump came to power.

It’s all a lie. Republicans stand for nothing and have never stood for anything. The party only seeks to hold onto power and enrich their corporate donors. Everything else about abortion, attack on trans people, critical race theory, defunding police is all just lies.

Sounds criminal to me. One can only imagine what the pubs would be doing
if the roles were reversed. Only imagine because I doubt the dems would resort to
election illegalities to try to claim a victory in an election they lost.
