Not a fan of Lamelo. He takes too many bad shots. One legged 3s? Smh

They have only one winning season in the last 9.

LaMelo Ball:

38 points
13 rebounds
13 assists

Kyshawn George fouled out.

Good tank loss but obviously this is the key to the game. LaMelo going berserk with Kyshawn fouling out is the clearest indicator of why it will help to have Bilal back. Not that Bilal can stymie Ball, but at least to give him a different look and free George up to play defense elsewhere. Maybe cut into that 13 assist total.

I didn't watch but from the box score aside from missing his 3's and fouling out it looks like George played decent. 8 boards 5 assists is a good contribution. Though yeah -22pts is not. Sarr was the only box score standout for us, good to see him generally playing well.

I'm fine if we play hard against the tough opponents and play tank line-ups against our competition for the bottom of the standings. Playing a pressing CJ and toothless Kispert 50 minutes is one way to do that.

It's weird because I thought Lamelo played quite horribly until the end but he had a monster stat line.

I like Tre better for us and he has better long term potential, but kon is a great fit on Charlotte.

Jesus! WTF happened?

I stopped watching at halftime because I play basketball on Sunday nights. We were up 61-52. I briefly checked the box score about 45 minutes later and we were up 82-74 halfway through the 3rd. And then I checked the box score an hour later and we had lost 139-113.

Charlotte went on a 65-31 run to close out the game? Were we just playing 4 guys or something?

All I know is that didn't happen on my watch!

Kyshawn got in foul trouble, CJ went into chuck mode and his 'Ole defense allowed the Hornets offense to start rolling. They started raining 3s, we were missing 3s, and they killed us on the boards.

Kyshawn fouled out after 25 minutes. Somehow Cam led the team in turnovers with 4 in only 21 minutes.

Yeah unfortunately Kispert is pretty much worthless out there. Being a guy who can hit open 3s once in a while isn't enough anymore. Feels like everyone in the NBA can shoot while offering something else.

Maybe keeping Kispert around is really a 4D chess move.

Middleton only played 20 minutes. And it wasn't just because the game was out of hand. His 4th quarter stint was cut short to 3 minutes, but he only played 17 minutes through 3 quarters. It looks like the plan will be to continue to load manage him this season. That's a good move. It showcases him for a trade while keeping him healthy and allowing the youngsters to play more.

Couldn't watch. Grr msn

Box score says they scored 88 points in 2nd half.
That sounds a whole lot like the MIL game.

Agree we're not trying to actually win but as a
thought experiment, how much might have Bilal
slowed down Ball?

Kyshawn and Alex have improved. Bub has not.

Tre is legit.

Vukcevic should play more. I wonder why he and Alex never play together?

I can't wait to see more of Riley and Watkins.

When an opp has someone going off, seems like BK
should put Watkins/Bilal on them.

That would be in his wheelhouse. If he was in the game he would surely be guarding Lamelo.

Sarr had 17 in the first half after Nate's call on page 1. That was pretty funny.

Or Champagnie. But: Not this year. Watch Boozer/Peterson/Dybantsa and you’ll be shouting for Kispert to get back in the game.

Yeah I looked up their head to head record and Melo still scores fine. But George would not have fouled out which really seems key to this teams success. He and Sarr look to be our two indispensable players.

And 5 assists. And CJ "I Still Have Trade Value" McCollum's line looks slightly better in game 3

It was a tanktastic clown show. Four chucker/no defense lineup. CJ was especially bad. He just kept shooting. And kept on clanking.

Embiid sitting out tonight so he can play against us tomorrow. So who will get the short straw and have to guard him?
