Watching Steph Curry right now -- he's definitely a 2-guard in a point guards body. He'll do more damage coming off screens than with the ball in his hands, but other than that he will bring little else to the table other than great shooting.

Watching Tyreke Evans -- quick and smooth with the ball. Good handles. He's going to get to the hoop in the NBA. Can he convert and will defenders respect his jumpshot is the question.

Austin Daye is looking pretty solid so far.

That's what I thought as well.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Will the VSL be televised this year? If so, do we have any games televised? Im asking because I checked my guide and I havent seen any games scheduled on NBA TV or ESPN. Is Comcast doing any for us? Is it just not showing in the guide and NBA TV will have it or what? I hope I can watch them this year

According to Mike Lee at WaPo, Wiz have cut a few players before SL play begins...

James Lang
Notre Dame swingman and son of former assistant Randy Ayers, Ryan Ayers
Villanova's Dwayne Anderson
St. Mary's forward Diamon Simpson

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizard ... l#comments

Remaining roster includes four Wizards veterans in Young, Dominic McGuire, JaVale McGee and Javaris Crittenton, Gonzaga big man Josh Heytvelt, Georgia Tech center Alade Aminu, Rhode Island guard Jimmy Barron, Coppin State guard Tywain McKee, Boston College guard Tyrese Rice, Florida State guard Jason Rich, West Virginia guard Alex Ruoff, San Diego State forward Kyle Spain and South Carolina forward Brandon Wallace

Lots of chuckers on that squad...ugh

Am I wrong here? Is the NBA forcing their fans to pay $14.95 to watch the Summer League on the internet? Are you f-ing crazy? What is NBA-TV for? People don't spend extra on their sports package for that garbage channel so you can show WNBA games in the summer? Nice job David Stern. The economy sucks so take advantage of your gullible fans to try and make an extra buck.

In the summer league game, the announcer said "The Detroit Piston's only starting center is Kwame Brown: have fun with that Piston fans."

I think it's a better team than they usually have - and they have 2 real PGs - which is 2 more than they usually have.

Some tweets from ESPN's Dave Thorpe while watching SL.

NBA teams are going to be scratching their heads about passing on Sam Young and D Blair in the 2nd half of round 1.
James Harden plays with a better pace than any rookie I've seen since joining espn.

I've always liked Pecherov. Had some fun with him in my chats, but he's good.

Blair with the double-double in 17 mins.

Yeah, closq. Those in love with Ernie talk about Blair's knees exploding and what not, but they also don't mention the Wizards also passed on Young and DeJuan Summers.

And for Pecherov, I did say I thought Pecherov's potentially better than Bargnani and that he's got the game of a Mehmet Okur, once he gets minutes. Wizards should have at least gotten the #28 if not the 18.

closq, I have a feeling Grunfeld had a HORRIBLE draft/acquisition time. The one-year rentals backfire if the guys blow up and the guys he passed on are going to be real good. Blair's production at the salary he's making will be four times that of a Joe Smith or Nesterovic.

Initial reports are just the beginning, closq. It's going to be obvious by the first month of the season...

CCJ, my only point of contention or my main point of contention would be the idea that EG somehow said "I don't want any 2nd round pick that could possibly make us better." I think the reality is he picked who he picked knowing he would have to sell the pick per his Owner's instructions. If you're picking knowing you're selling I think you have to avoid injury issues. He got $2.5 million for a 2nd round pick in lean economic times. I don't think either of us like the order but there's no arguing that he carried it out quite well.

W. Unseld, I blame Grunfeld but of course I don't know if that's what Abe instructed him to do: take the money and run.
