If Boston can't find a better deal and we want to flip Bibby:

Bibby for JO + future first?

I know they were interested more in Howard but backup PG is a weakness of theirs too depending on West's situation. Personally, I kind of like Bibby to mentor Wall but JO was a top three power-forward just seven seasons ago or so. He could help Blatche and McGee for sure. Then a pick would be the real incentive.

So, how can we move Bibby? Boston looks like a good fit.

Nate RObinson+Wafer (exp)+2011 1st for Bibby?

True, but if we can trade Hinrich for Bibby and Jordan Crawford, I'd probably do it. Hinrich - like Bibby - has just 1 year left on his deal, and it's not like he's part of the future. Crawford could be a nice instant offense off the bench guy in the Jamal Crawford mold.

I'd agree. I probably do Hinrich for Bibby/Jordan Crawford OR 2011 1st Rd Pick...

Take a shot an asset while losing someone who isn't part of the future core.

We got greedy... and said AND instead of OR. AND paid off!

Wow, it's a cool feeling when you talk about a trade possibility and then it kindasorta actually happens - except better.

I'm not wholly convinced it was necessary in the first place.

What about Miami? Bibby would start for them. It would have to include extra teams, though. Here's an idea where we swap Bibby for expirings.

Wiz trade: Bibby
Wiz receive: Jeffries and Chalmers

Heat trade: Miller and Chalmers
Heat receive: Bibby

Mavs trade: Haywood and first
Mavs receive: Miller and Jordan Hill

Rockets trade: Jeffries and Hill
Rockets receive: Haywood and DAL first

Thoughts?

OK, what about this deal (I'm about done with Javale).

Javale+Bibby for Oden+2011 Hornets pick (which Portland owns)?

I take the gamble on Oden because he at least defends the paint and isn't a total idiot on the court. Portland gets a young center and a backup PG in Bibby.

He also has the knees of Lieutenant Dan from "Forrest Gump." I don't know that I'd invest a hell of a lot in Oden.

I'd rather have Hill come to us, maybe throw in AB to try to facilitate that. Not sure where he would go. I like mhd's plan, I've given up on mcgee and would gladly take a chance on oden over this clown.

OK, maybe I'm off my rocker, but I don't think we have a snowball's chance in hell of attracting Howard in 2012. I'm looking to make bold moves. Here's one:

Wiz trade: Thorton+Yi+Hamadi+Javale+Hawks pick for Ben Gordon+unprotected Detroit pick.

Detroit's the 7th worst team in the NBA now, but I think NJ passes them and they settle on the 6th pick.

Assuming the lotto ends with current records, MOCK DRAFT would be:
1) Cleveland_Irving
2) Minny_Jonas V (assuming he can play center)
3) Sac_Perry Jones (goes for the upside pick)
4) Tor_Sullinger (needs a post player with Andrea on the outside)
5) Wiz_Kanter
6) Wiz_Derrick Williams

Detroit saves a ton of money for the sale and gets Javale as a consolation prize to pair with Monroe. Wiz put two high character young players in Williams and Kanter to pair with Wall.

I think I'm one of the few that actually liked Hinrich. Hinrich to Bibby is a huge downgrade, but neither are in long term plans and we got Jordan Crawford. Great deal. EG basically got two building blocks in Crawford and Seraphin for the 2nd round pick that was sent to Chicago. Great work EG!

Next step is to trade Josh Howard. Boston is interested, see if you can get a pick from them.

Given up on a Baltche trade. He's tanked his value. Might as well move him to center (maybe he and mcgee can do the change of pace thing, and he might work out well in a boring and slow ass front line with sullinger) unless someone is willing to offer a decent piece in combo with a rent a vet (howard and bibby) or rent a depth (thornton and yi).

i sincerely hope we're not done dealing.

I think one way or the other Nick will be back next year. I also think Howard will too as the primary backup to both wing positions, if not as the starting SF.

Shakur or PG TBA can handle the backup point duties.

Let's get some value for Kirk. Ideally it would be more than straight expirings, but even if it is, we'll have gotten Seraphin essentially for free. If we can squeeze another pick or prospect out of irk, it would be awesome.

Thanks for reading, Ernie. Let me know know if you need any more advice.

we should do Yi for Thabeet straight up. It's a long flier on Thabeet, but the risk is worth it at that cost.
