Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVIII
I'm pro-Simmons, but there are legitimate reasons for the Sixers to think about moving on from him. That roster is just horribly constructed given his skillset, and it's clear that Embiid is the bigger difference maker. When Embiid's on the floor, the presence or absence of Simmons makes virtually zero difference in the team's offensive efficiency per-possession (oddly, the Simmons-Embiid combo yields a somewhat more efficient offense measure per-shot; Simmons being a bit turnover-prone might mitigate that advantage). As good as Simmons is on defense, Embiid has a much greater impact on that end of the floor.
In any event, I think the Simmons conversation really picks up if the Sixers disappoint in the playoffs this year. I would love to see Simmons on a team built specifically around him, but I simply can't believe that he would fit well alongside Wall until we see how John looks post-injury.

That Bulls 2nd is FAR more valuable than Robinson is...

Good trade.
Same age, same contract, same value/productivity... just a position trade.
Must mean IT is getting bought out...

Maybe for a 2nd rnd pick....? He doesnt seem to show any promise with the Clips. Perhaps, he isnt getting enough burn to be an impact but our analytics dept may see something...Eli Babak wrote:

It's reported that the Cavs are sending John Henson, Brandon Knight and a 2nd for Drummond. If that's all it took to get him, then I'm pist we didn't match them.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I actually like this. Napier is a bit more efficient than McRae. Incremental improvement.DCsOwn wrote:?s=21

Wow... Great job TS.
Assuming we pick a G in the draft, Robinson profiles as a solid 4th Guard and a good locker room guy. Well done.
If we keep Bertans, the real hole left is two way wing, but we have the Full MLE to fill that.

If true, glad for IT. This late in his career, it's good he gets a good chance to go to the NBA finals and possibly win.

DA said he's going to New York as part of the three-team deal.
Well, there was no way they'd just get a young prospect for free (IT), so it had to be rights to Sanon or a future 2nd. I'm fine with this.

Ehh. Still a good deal
Robinson is a worthwhile flyer because he has a two basics: Work ethic/IQ & Shooting. He can be streaky, but hopefully something we can work with.

Probably a favor to IT as much as anything else.
Former 1st rounder--kid is probably a bum going by his numbers, but it's worth kicking the tires on.
Don't necessarily get the McRae for Napier swap.
Will be interesting to see what Drummonds intentions are moving forward. He's really done too much losing to stay committed to the Cavs long term but money talks.
