I'm no expert, but seems like picking a QB would be anything but a value pick. There's only 2 who appear to be 1st round worthy - Pickett and Willis - and they'll be gone by 11. How about CB Derek Stingley? He sounds like a top 5 talent who could slip because of his lack of experience. Is there a 43 LBer who's worthy at 11 - maybe Damone Clark?

There should be a few really good ones there. Stingley. The safety from Notre Dame. LB from Utah. I’m hoping they don’t reach for a QB

When I think of Stingley I think of the receiver with the patriots and I think of Tatum.

Malik Willis is the best QB prospect by a wide margin. Matt Corral might be good. Kenny Pickett is a future journeyman.

Tell me more Dat. I’ve never seen him play. Scouting reports say great arm, good runner, played without a lot of talent around him, got sacked a lot and is questionable about being able to make complex reads.

Kipper’s mock draft has WFT taking Willis @11.

I’m not loving any of the QB prospects enough to draft them in the first round. I want a LB or CB at 11 in rd 1. Then maybe take a chance drafting Strong or Howell, maybe even a Zappe or Ridder. But honestly I’m not really feeling it when looking at this QB draft class.

He would need to sit for a year but I’d say he’s the most physically talented quarterback in the draft. Corral is a one read qb, pass. I don’t agree that Pickett is a journeyman…he has really good wheels, a strong arm, and he’s the best processor in the draft next to Howell. Pickett’s only drawback is that he has small hands and has to throw with a glove. At this point, there’s no slam dunk prospect.

Edit: they should NOT go after a defensive player with their pick. They need to invest heavily on the offensive side of the ball. They have holes all over the offensive side of the ball, including the most important position.

Electric athlete, closest thing to Lamar athletically. Dual threat, shows good touch from the pocket but tried to do to much why a bad supporting cast this year. Has the arm to make any pass. Folks rave about his worth ethic and professionalism. Highly intelligent and processes the field quickly. Will need some time to adjust. Wouldn't try to force it as a day one starter.

I think he's a better prospect than Fields & Lance but most would disagree with me.

Just watched a highlight video. Undeniable arm talent. Strong runner. I didn’t see many straight drop back passes where he had to go through a progression of reads. Also didn’t see him elude pressure, regather and throw.

Definitely intriguing though.

If I had to bet on who will be the Skins' QB (which hopefully turns out better than their name-change - Commanders? aka Commies), it'd be Jimmy G. SF paid too much to get Trey Lance to keep him on the bench for another year, and they can save $24 in cap space by trading G. Jimmy G is not a top echelon QB, but he had a good year leading SF to the playoffs, and he's been a winner throughout his NFL career - mostly right place at right time. God help us if the Skins give up a 1st rounder for him. I think they can get him for a 3rd rounder. And then we have to worry about the Skins giving him a big extension (he's signed just through 2022). They'll point to his 5-2 career record in the playoffs and leave off the fact that he's thrown too many int's in those games.

Sam Howell is the other QB the Skins might look at in the draft - Dat mentioned the top 3 rated. My guess is that all 4 go in the 1st round - QB's always end up getting picked higher than they're mocked at this time of the year. I'm no scout, but Howell seems like a tough physical QB that could be a fan favorite.

Willis a one read QB. He doesn't know how to go thru progressions, and Liberty didn't ask him to. This video sums up Willis:

In Madden terms, you're getting a guy with 95 arm strength, 80 accuracy, and 55 awareness.

*edit* I wouldn't give up higher than a 5th for JG. If the WFT is willing to eat his salary, that's doing SF a favor because he'd get cut or rot on the bench next year. JG is Alex Smith...he lacks arm talent. That's ultimately not someone you give up anything of value for.

Allen and Mahomes came into the NFL as one read QBs. The NFL is more and more a traits driven league unless you have Brady's brain, and only one guy has Brady's brain.

Jonathan Allen and Doug Williams absolutely looked like they were in a hostage video.

Hail to the... Commies? Oy.

Did they think that through? And still went with it? Wow.

The most generic, boring, non-impactful, name ever. I guess this was one of the options the guy in Virginia didn't patent.

Definitely an indoor football team name. Ugh.

Haha hail to the Commies!

It is a boring name, but at least it isn't actively stupid, like "Wizards"

I like the "Take Command" catch phrase. Don't like the name itself though.

Would have liked Red Hogs. Maybe there was an issue with that in the same way that we couldn't do red wolves. idk
