Hands, I've been funnin' with you as it relates to Beal. I know you have love for the kid and that you were in his corner when some here were comparing Beal to "Jarvis Hayes." I'm through giving you grief for what you rightfully point out was one comment.

It was a interesting draft offseason last year with so many potential "near all stars" in that draft. There were Sully backers, MKG backers, Beal Boosters, and Barnes Beloveds, Waiter haters and fans, Llliard fans, and I think I was one of only two posters who actually supported the idea of drafting Drummond for his potential (my argument at the time being that he appeared a 50/50 shot at being a franchise player, or a Kwame level bust w/only defenive skill to hang his hat on-counter arguments to my take were conistently along the, "I dont see the upside you do, and I think the downside is way more than 50% likely etc).

At the time my board was:

1. Davis
2. MKG
3. Beal or Drummond
4. Trade down

I think the board consensus more or less was along the lines of Davis clearly being the pick, and failing him, either MKG, or Beal, with a few fans of Waiters, Barnes, and Lillard (and one fellow Drummond booster w/me as a backup plan).

I admit I was wrong on Drummond. Thought he'd be a complete disaster in the pros but he's been pretty good.

I wanted Beal or MKG. I think Beal will be the better player, potentiall 2nd best player in this class behind Davis(Lillard might be better now but he's a little older, Beal hasn't even scratched the surface of his potential yet).
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Last year I was half heartedly defending the asinine Jan Vesely pick arguing that the Boulez couldn't have been so insanely stupid as to draft a player who can't shoot any better than the average 5th grade boy in a P.E. class, so I don't necessairly have a lot of room to proclaim my genius. For every good take I've had, or good rip I've had (Marcus Morris wont do squat at that next level, no reason to draft him), there are some moments of grand mal stupdity.

At the end of the day though, i give myself a little room with the '11 debacle because I wanted us to trade up for Valunciunas, or barring that, Kantner, or trade down for Leonard, I didn't actually want Vesely, I just felt if we were sitting at slot, and the evals were on point, fair enough with the pick. Like many I had no idea that Vesely was so horrendously scouted. I dont for the life of me understand the pick now that I know, as you guys do, and many did, that this guy litterally has lmost zero technical skills, and apparently he was drafted simply because he was tall, fast, and could dunk. Horrible.

Don't say that. Hopefully he just rolled his ankle and will be back for the next game.

Chris Miller ‏@cmillscsn
X-rays negative on Bradley Beal. He's walking out of the lockeroom with crutches #WizardsTalk

Garrett Temple ‏@GTemp14
Praying for the young homie @RealDealBeal23 to recover from his ankle injury. #ROYcandidate

The NBA on ESPN ‏@ESPNNBA
Wizards say @RealDealBeal23's ankle x-rays were negative. Beal had to be carried off the court after spraining his ankle today against PHI.

Damn. I feel like Beal always gets a minor injury every time he's starting to hit his stride. Hope he heals quickly and can get back out on the court for us. The thought of Wall, Price, and Temple getting all of our guard minutes is disgusting.

Here's an interesting Beal stat I just found:

Beal's stats with Wall on the bench:
ORtg: 94.3
DRtg: 102.6
Net: -8.2

Beal's stats with Wall on the court:
ORtg: 102.5
DRtg: 96.2
Net: +6.3

WOW.

Ray Allen/Wade

When I said I saw some Wade in him, this isn't the part I wanted to see. Didn't Ray Allen have some early injury problems as well.

I hope Beal can stay healthy. He has had a rough go of it this season.

That is a great reason to keep Wall.

But do those stats account for Beal's first 2 (awful) months? I'd be curious to see those stats for the games that Wall's been healthy for.

Ask and you shall receive.

Beal's stats with Wall on the bench (since Wall returned):
ORtg: 104.1
DRtg: 96.5
Net: +7.6

Beal's stats with Wall on the court (since Wall returned):
ORtg: 102.5
DRtg: 96.2
Net: +6.3

That's really interesting. Clearly Beal turned a corner after his first two **** months. But now he's actually playing a little bit better on offense without Wall on the court. Pretty small difference though.

^ thanks for posting that rocky. That's pretty much what I thought. Beal's hot shooting started before Wall returned so I'm not surprised by those numbers.

Beal should be benched along side Wall for 30+ games next season for doing damage to the Washington Wizard's tank. Thats National Security !!!
