President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

If anyone really believes the Skins have any chance at getting the 10th pick for Trent Williams, I have some offshore land to sell you in Louisiana. If we can get a 2nd, take it. Problem is, if we trade him, we have to actually get a LT. Most of the local media is delusional about Williams - calling him the top lineman in football. When's the last season he's been healthy? Why is that going to change when he's 32? Being great in his late 20's doesn't mean he's going to be good at 32. And he wants to be paid like an all-pro.

We have to get a LT regardless because Trent isn't coming back. Peters is 38, Whitworth is 38, good tackles can play late into their 30's. Trents age 32-35 seasons is definitely valuable and I'd hope would get us a 2nd.

Sure they can play, but they're not what they were and don't get paid like they were. Donald Penn's a good example. He was a Pro Bowl LT in 2016 when he was Trent's age and signed a nice contract paying him over 10 mil a year, and the Skins got him for nothing in 2019. Skins have given Trent and his agent 1 week to make a deal with another team. I think Trent and his agent will be in for a surprise as to how little teams are willing to give up to get him.

I’d be happy with a second round pick although I think a third rounder is more likely. I’m curious as to what parameters the skins set forth to TW’s agent (for instance - find a deal with a second rounder coming back to us or suit up and play this last year for the skins if you want a paycheck).

But Scherff's going to take a big chunk out of that 72 mil. We'll still have plenty of money, but use it wisely - avoid over-valued players like James Bradberry.

Re: The Washington Redskins Thread
Maybe I'm crazy (maybe?), but I think Isaiah Simmons might end up being a better fit in the 43 than Young. There's no question Young would be a MUCH better fit in the 34 than Simmons, but the Skins have insisted they're using the 43. And there's no question that the Skins will need 43 LBers - not 43 of them, but multiple LBers that fit that defense.
Miami's picking at 5, and Simmons will likely be there. Just sayin. Hint - trade down with Miami.

Yep. I’d take all three Miami picks.
Take Simmons, the best LT left, then the BPA.
Kerrigan, Allen, Payne (Ionnidis), Sweat.
Simmons, Foster, Holcomb
Dunbar, Moreau
??, what’s his name (free agent from Giants last year)
Is a decent base.
Without Trent’s salary, we can get some OL depth, a TE and a safety.
In Rizzo we trust

Re: The Washington Redskins Thread
Starting to think about the post-Trent Williams era, and just saw this happened. I don't know anything about him, other than what I've just that (apparently he also had a beef with his team after an injury situation). Could he be an option?

Yeah. I assume we’d be interested. He’s a solid tackle but timing might be an issue. Skins would need a deal to trade Trent before they could negotiate in good faith. If Trent’s agent can’t find an acceptable trade he’ll remain our starting LT.

I think that outside of DC, nobody's surprised that Trent's agent couldn't find a deal. He's just not worth more than his salary - and Trent and his agent are going to look like fools if they take something that's not more than his current salary. Why pay him and give up a 2nd rounder when players like Cordy Glenn become available? Honestly, Trent's agent should be asking the Skins to take him back and throw him a bone with an extension that's slightly higher than his current salary but that's almost completely unguaranteed. Maybe it becomes guaranteed if he plays 16 games and makes the Pro Bowl. Whatever they do - do it quickly, because everyone's sick and tired to the Trent Williams drama.

I really like Isaih Simmons. If they can move down to #5 and get a nice bounty, i'd probably make that move. I guess the danger would be that you're gambling on him being there at 5.
