IMO so long as a guy doesn't intentionally repeatedly violate TOS or engage in repeated flaming of the same message boards, there's nothing wrong with allowing him to post. The board is less fun when it becomes "sanitized".

I've been considered off-the wall at times. I like Ji, 95% of the time. He has a unique insight on things and even when he says something incredibly politically incorrect, it's usually funny as all heck. I appreciate a change-of-pace type person.

I miss the weather stuff, too, Pine. I never got why people ripped him so much on the bad juju stuff. It's not like the Wizards have been good enough to matter whether they won or lost in the past 25 years, either way.

What Swami said, Pine--You can reinstate Ji.

Is Ji waived again??

I didn't know that.

A "Free Ji" movement is forming. Is this a great country or what?

I'm in. Where do I sign the petition?

Loved his weather thread. I mean, how wrong can one guy be, and how often, and keep after it with such enthusiasm? The guy would get me pumped for snow in July. It was a beautiful thing.

What happened to Ace Degenerate? Is he banned? He was hilarious. I'll bet he's got a perspective on the Crittendon news as it relates to Arenas.

Ace was suspended, then came back and blasted/threatened the entire board. I suspect that earned him a ban...

On another topic: Is anyone interested in a Wizboard fantasy football league? (There probably already is one and I missed it, hehe, but I have to ask.)

I miss him.

you're a mod. re-instate him.

WizardsKev will tell you, getting someone reinstated is hell. I just went through this on behalf of someone who had no business being banned and it required me to fight just about every mod out there in a behind-the-scenes environment.

I thought Ji had a new screen name. Did THAT one get banned too?

Ji, if you're okay, drop us a line.

So I'm guessing you aren't going to go to bat for BCH?

LOL Cramer and Scabs.....actually, if it were up to me, I'd go back and reinstate BCH, SD20, Ji (if he's banned), Fokus/Ace and just about everyone else banned.

My thinking has really evolved on banning since my run in with the other mods on the banning of WizardKev's friend. I think mods - I'm calling myself out first so nobody thinks I'm trying to escape the criticism that I deserve - are human and can overreact in the heat of the moment. Once a ban occurs, you end up having a debate with everyone under the sun about the banning if you want to unban somebody. (Kev's friend REALLY didn't deserve the banning at all. And no, I didn't ban WizardKev's friend).

I know SD20 sometimes drops by the board under his new S/N and when he has, I've told him that he's welcome back. I really regret pushing for his ban b/c while he was irritating (to me), everyone else seemed to be handling him just fine....more or less. I was trying to "fix" a non-existent problem.

My real regret is that it's really difficult to undo the screw up.

That being said, some people deserve (and need) the time out just to chill out. So, when appropriate, I think a 24-hour, 3-day, or 7-day timeout is okay to award posters who need it. But because the bans are so permanent and applied (again, calling myself out here with the rest of the banning mods) sometimes in a not-too-objective fashion, I don't think I'll be asking for a ban on anyone unless:

1) He's just acting like that MARCOPOLO guy at the old ESPN boards. He didn't post, hey'd just drop the one line "WHORELANDO TRAGIC -- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" and do it 900 times in a row so that it's all you saw when you logged in.

2) The rest of the members of this board are rising up and TELLING me to ban somebody.

My dos centavos.

I think that lack of a basketball season and the prospects of no season for a while has cut into traffic. That's kinda expected. I hope they resolve the labor dispute soon.

If you can arrange to avoid ever having kidney stones, do it. Had a bout with one recently, and it was the 2nd most painful experience I've ever had. To give you an idea, dislocating my knee is #3. Rehabbing from shoulder surgery ranks 4th.

Sorry to hear that Kev.

P.S. Back to banning - and no, it wasn't me. How could we all think about who we'd like to reinstate without the screen name "Giltwanbutler" being mentioned. That dude was fearless about trolling EVERYBODY'S board.

What was 1st? I've had cats that suffered similar, and it looked like the worst pain I've ever seen a cat endure, short of being run over by a car.

#1 was a "mild" pancreas infection. I went to the emergency room on my 33rd birthday in agony. It took just four and a half hours to receive treatment. Only another hour after that to get pain medication. They insisted on giving me morphine even though I told them it made puke. They administered it to me at the same time they gave me some dye to drink for a high-contrast MRI. Which, of course produced high-contrast vomit.

Back to the pain -- on a scale of 1-10, it was a 15+. Unbelievable, unrelenting, searing, agonizing pain. I seriously thought I was going to die. At one point in the waiting room, I was kinda hoping for it.

I ended up spending a week in the hospital, almost exclusively for pain management. They never figured out why the pancreas was inflamed/infected. It just got better. I lost 15 pounds that week.
