Run offense broke some long ones but the run blocking in general was not good. OTOH the passing game is all-time potent at QB and receivers.

The game was satisfactory but the unimaginative play calls near the end took the air out a rout. The second units allowed a third TD.

This team is only fair for the B1G. They’re gonna get smashed by more dominant line play.

Origin Sports, channel 238 on Roku TV is showing Rasheed Wallace vs Joe Smith, from 1995, ACC Tournament semifinals.

What a delight!

I'm watching collegiate Wallace, Smith, Jerry Stackhouse, Jeff McIniss, Keith Booth, Exree Hipp, Johnny Rhodes, Duane Simpkins, Rodney Elliott, and Donald Williams. Sarunas Jasikevicius, off the bench.

Teams were BETTER then than they are now IMO.

The 1995 draft surprise to me was Joe Smith going #1 overall, ahead of Rasheed and a HS phenom -- Kevin Garnett.

That season Tim Duncan decided to return to Wake Forest and remained in college for two or three more seasons. He could or should have been the top pick even as a freshman.

This roster looks BAD to me. No player over 6'3". Many ball dominant players, who will be new to B1G play. Many freshmen and grad players. It's a bad mix. Volume shooters but no continuity. No real leaders. Too many players to possibly be happy at Maryland.
The minutes won't be there and more players will hit the portal.

I predict the Lady Terps will be under .500. No NCAAs this season. Brenda lost this program starting two seasons ago.

This season she's going to have to really coach well but I think that's not her strength. She has had WNBA studs in the past. I don't see it with this team.

SMU will be a pretty fair test. Maryland is an ever-so-slight favorite.

Locksley needs this particularly because he's going against a first year head coach.

Sloppy, but a win is a win.

Hemby looked great. Jeshaun Jones has a very low football IQ.

Taulia Tagovailoa didn't look sharp and there were some bad play calls.

Regardless, they won.

Outrageous thought: Maryland could beat Michigan.

It's no more absurd than Washington State beating Wisconsin or Appalachian State beating Texas A&M.

Tua coming back over the Ravens after Taulia also rallied has made me reevaluate. Maryland has a good offense. They have a great kicker.

For whatever reason I think at the very least it will be closer than the current 17-point spread.

I wouldn't say it's that crazy at all they put together a really good team this year. They have a chance. I won't be shocked if they stay healthy and they are undefeated in November.

Willard isn't going to win (much) right away and he has to get his own players.
