Seems random.

The NBA and teams in the NBA made statements of support and solidarity in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

Got it, saw the attack in the news later. I noticed a lot of people on Reddit were upset about it.

Honestly those are kind of tight. Not sure how they relate to DC at all though, looks more like a Miami uniform

It's referencing statues in dc with the copper oxidizing.

The concept is cool but the jersey with the red on it ruins it with the gray /black.

The shorts could have had more of the "rust" and get rid of the gray on it.

Make the jersey all black , add more rust to the shorts and get rid of the red and it would have been a 10/10 jersey.

Nike really lost the plot with their NBA uniforms.

Looks like a throw in for a Medieval Times turkey leg family combo.

Wouldn't look out of place wearing this over a chainmail at the local renaissance fair.

Even just that as your point of inspiration — yeah, let’s pay honor to oxidation, the process of decay by which stately things turn ugly.

Kind of fitting, all in all — if you take in the depressing, downward sweep of a franchise that went from the Team of the ‘70s to … this.

But Jesus these are hideous. Maybe the worst unis I’ve seen, ever. EVER. So bad you can’t even mock them.

Does nobody connected with this team have ANY aesthetic sense? ANY? The arena is drab (and with such poor lighting, apparently, that nobody can shoot on our court), the social media accounts are dull, and now this (after a run of some awful uglies over the years — although this, friends, is the capper).

I wonder if number 7+7 is available?

It shouldn't be. Big Gheorghe Muresan's jersey should be in the rafters. Legendary.

Awesome. I wonder exactly what that means. Like what will John's role be exactly.

Interesting. I don't think Wall is all that good of a communicator. He talks real fast and mumbles some, and he jumps around between thoughts without explaining how he got from point A to point B. Haywood should be excellent. It'll be interesting to see if Haywood can replace Gooden over time. I like Gooden's personality, but his analysis is pretty shallow.

Of course, the quality of all Wizards broadcasts are crippled by the fact that broadcasters are required to be sycophants to the organization at all times.

As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I haven’t watched a wizards game since like 2017. I attribute that to many things,

1) Wall & Beals attitudes and acting like they were special when they never did anything of note.
2) Wall showing up fat to camp every year.
3) Terrible team chemistry (remember the whole every body eats stuff).
4) firing Phil chenier, than Steve buckhantz

These last few games are my first time watching the team in 8 years. It’s fun because the team is young, full of energy, and growing.

Just a few things about the broadcast.

1) the PA announcer is a whiny screechy lady that makes your ears bleed, why? Is it to attract more women to the NBA? She does not have the golden throat for the job.
2) who is drew gooden? How is he affiliated with the wizards? What value does he add to the broadcast?
3) does anyone else hear awkward buzzing feedback from the monumental sports and entertainment feed? It reeks of poor production quality. I almost always switch over to other teams broadcasts.
4) didn’t Ted crush wall on his way out of town? I remember serious shade towards wall when he was traded. Talking about going to club love until early morning hours all the time. Seems odd bringing him back.

Yeah last game there was an audio issue. Only game I’ve noticed that.

As for drew gooden, he played for the wizards from 2014-2016. I think he does a pretty good job honestly.

I like Gooden a lot, he has an easy going, friendly, and funny personality, but he occasionally veers into an almost made-up language when articulation fails him, maybe like a visual artist might do in announcing a game, and sometimes I haven't a clue what he's talking about. Haywood doesn't seem to have that problem, and he's very energetic.
