I assume he was referring to the large 2-page add by the Chinese government in the Des Moines Register that was a series of pro-China news articles meant to look like they were part of the official paper. It is certainly a more direct means of influencing elections than a bunch of Russian Facebook trolls having tenuous associations with Putin.

Presumably the Des Moines Register has control over how they present their advertisements.

people see the clear difference between what Russia is doing and what China is "doing" right? Like, haha false equivalencies and all but we can take a step back and agree that the spread of propaganda and false information is infinitely worse than imposing tariffs and taking out political ads. yes?

You want the truth - I'll give it to you. I don't have very many relatives because most of my grandparents' siblings (and they had a lot) died young because they lived as Jews in Belarus - that and my parents had only one sibling between them - and he died as a young man. So I'm not particularly interested in what's going on now in Belarus.

The crazy thing is that let's look at who started the **** trade war in the first place? This is all Trumps doing and you have to be completely misinformed to believe that China imposing tariffs is in any form the same as meddling in elections.

what!!!!!

We allow other nations to meddle in our elections or we dont. The FBI has spent 2 years on the russian thing and numerous times they have some out and said "no evidence of any votes being changed." Obama himself said that russia meddled but did not affect the outcome.

So we either stop meddling or we dont. Meddling is a big deal or it is not.

And to directly answer your question...wait for it......phuck no!!!!!!!!!! There is no way in hell that 13 trolls spamming facebooke with a whole 50K in ads were and are more effective in changing minds than tariffs that directly target farmers in purple states where those tariffs are aimed at countering Trump's tariffs on china.

If china just did broad spectrum tariffs? Fine...im cool with that. Incxtead they are targetting american jobs in specific swing states. Not only do these tariffs have a significantly larger effect...they take food out of those farmers mouths. They affect the bottom line in multiple industries in multiple swing states.

the purpose of those kinds of tariffs is to weaken trumps support amongst his base in those states. And in such a way to get him to back down. And instead he doubled down. You gotdamned right he did!!!!!!!!!!!

And he is lucky to have strong support in those states from intelligent and patriotic americans who see right through these chinese tariffs and right through the media ignoring it and right through liberals like you defending it!!!! You are all disgusting!!!! Frnakly its the most unamerican thing you can do!!!

the farmers should all ban together right now should increase the cost of food transported out of their village or town. Let's see how those on the coast like it when their happy meal is 25 dollars. a burger down the street is $50. and a gallon of milk is $50.

^^how would you liberal like that???? Oh???? You wouldn't, right?????????? But it's ok for china to tariff goods and foods from those AMERICAN regions so as to weakent their sales. and ultimately affect the workers who work on those farms and plants and shipping companies....thats ok with you!!?? Right?? SO long as THEY starve. Those americans can starve right!!!! Just so long as the liberals get to eat everything is all good with china!! Got it!

Take home message. Liberals are disgusting!!!! They abuse the powers of the DOJ to spy on political opponents. And they dont care about the rest of america!! Just themselves. <--which was the point of my posts over the last few days...flying right over the head of most of the liberal on here. The lefty liberal levels of self interest are insanely disgusting!

i cant believe that liberals are not embarrassed by the crazy levels of their own hypocrisy. but of course they aren't. of course!!

hint as to why Russia's worse: it required FBI investigations, senate investigations, and internal investigations by FB to determine what the problem was, and who was behind the problem, and there are still thousands of Americans that don't believe it.

counterarument to why China's is not worse: it's transparent, reactionary, and some would say "foreseeable, and even expected consequences to the deliberate act of engaging in a trade war with China."

like, yeah it sucks to have tariffs on American goods but it's also reaping what you sow in picking a trade war with China. you can't stop China from voicing their opinion.

truthfully, and fully spelled out (because apparently it needs to be), election meddling is sinister because it sows distrust and deceit. people can't voting rationally when they're being fed propaganda and lies. they can't make informed decisions because they can't be informed. there are people believing that Hilary ran a pedophilic sex ring in an Cleveland Park pizzaria, to the point that someone brought a rifle to the store. with mass misinformation, the premise of democracy breaks down.

when China, or special interest groups, or whoever voices their opinion and endorses someone with full transparency, that's legitimate information, and is information a voter can use to make their own informed decision. a red vote for someone that continues to enable Trump to antagonize other nations, and resist globalism will result in negative actions from other nations, as with China.

after trump wins this trade war, and he is going to win. I wont be surprised if goods and services specifically from red and purple states are more protected from chinese import tariffs than goods and services from blue states.

And we shall see what song you sing then.

U have said the Jewish many times and family. I too am Jewish, I wished u a nice holiday. The history of your is mine too. I put before we now have 85,000 Jews in Belarus up much in 30 year with people home.

Many now come home, many synagogues. Not the 300,000 population before 100 years, but still this is good. Your blood lines here still. Maybe I one, and 100% only a few family away.

Please visit. Beautiful new synagogue all over.

i'm not sure what song you think i'm singing now, other than trying to tell you why you're wrong - in this instance your knee-jerk reaction to bray out "ELECTION MEDDLING!" due to identity politics.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I am sarorwnaky fan, so wizard fan. I wanted to grief/troll. But I hate clinton. She buys uranium to our dictator and steal from us, dictator keep allZ. Then sold to Russia. But that is others

But after meme I do not understans why rich American hate so much and so rude to each other’s.

Chats here suprissed me. Poor office worker seem hate poor farm worker no logic lolz and both poor. This is propaganda divide conquer.

Also much here in one area smart become ilooogic and cruel here like media puppet. Stupid.

Many fight becuz one says bank control all. Obvious no? They do. Very shock some American stupid enough not to see this or globalizm scams. All of Belarus, Poland Czech and other e European fight this very very hard forever.

I like USA but you sell your factory to rich who sell to Chinese and viet. Now angry more poor urban and angry more poor farmer. This is fake elite vs real people. This is like Eastern Europe. You are very corrupt since Iraq wars. But to pretend one side better when both poor and suffer same trouble is action of poor no education nation I think not USA. Maybe juzt internets chatter.
