Just a bump to make sure this thread doesn't leave the first page for as long as Ernest runs this team (into the ground).

Thanks. This state of the whole cleaster flick of a franchise begins and ends with Leonsis' admission that he was right in the middle of "the plan."
Hire a competent GM. Get out of the way.

If "The Plan" doesn't work, just change the way you spell it: "The Plunge."

Re: The Amazingly Sucky Theodore Leonsis Thread
With 11 home games played (among the highest number of home games for any team so far this season) the Wizards now have the lowest attendance since ESPN began tracking that stat in the 2000/2001 season.
The team that year:
Courtney Alexander
Calvin Booth
Hubert Davis
Obinna Ekezie
Richard Hamilton
Juwan Howard
Popeye Jones
Gerard King
Christian Laettner
Felipe Lopez
Tyrone Nesby
Cherokee Parks
Laron Profit
Mitch Richmond
Michael Smith
Mike Smith
Rod Strickland
David Vanterpool
Loy Vaught
Jahidi White
Chris Whitney
That's right, this rag tag group of has beens and never was's had a better attendance record than Grunfeld's 13th year anniversary roster.

Haha, remember the chatter from Ted/Ernie apologist that we were so-close to getting Horford? Per the tap, Horford's 2nd choice was Houston. This organization is pathetic.

Major props to all of you who tune in regularly for Wizards games still. Never thought it would happen, but I've completely lost the urge to pay more than cursory attention to the team.
I really hope Ted is somehow feeling in the wallet, I'm sure I'm not alone. Years of abject mediocrity and is somehow still scared of making the necessary changes.

Your weekly reminder that Terd Lie-onsis made up a completely fictional story about finding the championship trophy in some janitor's home closet.

Re: The Amazingly Sucky Theodore Leonsis Thread
A while ago someone was posting research on cheap secondary market tickets.
I'm coming to town in a couple of weeks and want to take my father to the Knicks game without putting any shekels in Ted's pocket. Until the Wiz's latest run, I was thinking I'd just wait until a few days before and try to score some really good seats at rock bottom prices... but, seems like things have turned.
Anyone have intel? Should I just go on StubHub and buy tix now? Or can I legitimately wait and get good seats at a reasonable price later?

Oh hell... if you are there then one way or another you'll put a few bucks in Ted's pocket. Who cares. If you want to take your Dad to the game, get the tix when you are sure you can get the best seats. Anyway that's my call.

The short answer to your question is you can probably buy secondary market tickets now without much risk that prices for that Knick game will rise or fall significantly from here. Probably all the inventory is on the market now.
Just a couple FYIs here after a quick look to elaborate:
--While supply and demand have stabilized over the past month, meaning I'm finding fewer of the ridiculously cheap seats that I was finding a month or so ago, the secondary market prices are still significantly lower than the box office prices for equivalent seats for almost all games and locations.
--I only learned in the last few weeks that season ticket holders no longer have access to pdfs of their tickets, and that electronic buying and selling on the secondary market is limited to Ticketmaster, which is another example of the plan holders getting screwed by Ted and the team. So if you go with StubHub, you have to receive printed tickets or pick them up at will call, which means that it's not a great option same day or less than a few days out.
--The Knicks have a strong following that both lives here and will travel here that will show up whether or not they suck or the Wizards suck.
--So the best way to avoid enriching Ted at this point is to find a good deal on StubHub in the next few weeks.

You can also limit the amount of $ going to Ted by taking your Dad out to a nice meal at one of the many good to very good restaurants in the neighborhood before the game. My current favorite is the ramen place at 6th and G, Daikaya, but there's lots to choose from. If it was my Dad, I'd take him to Clyde's, Carmine's or Hill Country.
