Now that I think about it, this really makes things better for a trade with Houston. I mentioned this in the trade thread, but with Houston amassing picks and in the market for Dwight Howard; the Wizards can come up with something to get Martin involving Okafor.

A three-way deal with Okafor and multiple firsts going to Orlando, with Martin coming to the Wizards is more favorable now.

CCJ - why do that? Leave Orlando out of it and just do Martin for Okafor and whatever fillers are needed?

Fine, let HOR and ORL do their own dealing. My point is Okafor is more attractive to the Rox now, mohammed10.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Their end game is Dwight right? If we do a deal with Houston, they would probably want our lottery pick, so they can package whatever picks they have to Orlando to get Dwight.

2nd - if they need to match salaries, they would have to package Martin and Scola plus picks in return for Dwight. They need Martin's salary.

CCJ- I think you may have misunderstood me. I was saying why not just offer Okafor to Houston for Martin now?

I don't think we would be able to finagle one of Houston's firsts out of them as well.

However, if there is a way to be a part of a three-way with Orlando to move more spare parts around, I would like to see what else we could get.

Wow. Houston is doing it's best to totally reset the roster. They're clearing out all big contracts and stockpiling 1st round picks. I don't know if their end game is Dwight Howard, or if they're just rebuilding from scratch after determining that their current team is stuck in 45-win purgatory.

With Dalembert off the team, would they consider an Okafor for KMartin swap? Maybe after they strike out on Howard?

Yeah, I thought it was a nice little move for the Bucks. They needed a starting center and got one for just moving down 2 spots. The 3 guys they traded obviously didn't fit in their plans and had little to no trade value by themselves. And Dalembert's contract is small.

Atlanta wants Gasol? He'd be an interesting pairing with Horford. And if the deal is something like Gasol for Smith+Marvin, the Lakers would get younger and get an upgrade at SF.

^ Fisher was mentioning that 15% trade kicker on Pow's contract, so that's about $45 million a year on Joe Johnson and Pow. Not seeing that actualizing.

Now THAT is the kind of deal LA fans need to expect to get from Pau trades.

Not enough incentive coming from LA though. I dont know how they could make it work tbh. But it is interesting, two players playing "out of position" get to move back to their spot for the Hawks, Horford at PF and Pau at C. They could be the best pairing in the east.

And likewise, a Smith/Bynum front line would be pretty good out west. It could also entice Howard to push for an LA trade since he and Smiff are besties. Could really work for both sides.

Is Wilson Chandler that good? The #7 pick?

Rico et al., do we have anything to offer to get in on this?

I'd say the #7 for Chandler would be overpaying, and that's probably the only reason why DEN is even willing to talk about it. And if a mid-lotto pick is the price, we're priced out IMO.

I agree number 7 is too pricey for Chandler. However I think swapping 1sts(7th and 20th) is about right. Maybe GS throws in an early 2nd(they have 2).

I think if Orlando is dealing with Houston in a Dwight deal they want to put a respectable team on the court and get some picks. I think they likely want to keep Martin, or Houston does in building around Howard. I think the offers for the Wizards to get involved are likely Turkoglu or Scola for Nene or Okafor. It takes an incentive for the Wizards to consider these trades, and I don't really see that being there.

Maybe Reddick/Turkoglu for Okafor, but even with Turkoglu's contract structure that seems a high price to get Reddick.

]Billy King was asked on Wednesday if he regreted the Nets' decision to trade their top-3 protected first round pick in a deal for Gerald Wallace.

The Nets didn't move up into the top-3 with the lottery and their No. 6 pick was conveyed to the Blazers. Despite losing their pick, King doesn't regret the decision to deal for Wallace.

Shortly after the March trade, a source told ESPN's Chad Ford that the only three players the Nets "loved" were Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson. All three players are expected to be off the board by the No. 6 pick.

"I think there’s a great player at No. 1 and then there’s a lot of very good players that belong with him," said King.

"I think the draft became hyped as a great draft because a lot of people knew the names because Harrison Barnes was supposed to come out the year before, stayed. Jared Sullinger stayed. So now there are more names in it that they media and fans knew. I think it’s a good draft. A great draft? I don’t think so."

DBlair being shopped. The Spurs already got their monies-worth out of Blair, now they can bring-in their next steal, Ryan Richards.

First I saw it here, saw that it was fake so I erased this scenario from my mind. Then I heard it again on the radio with Sheehan on the way to lunch, started yelling profanities, then Sheehan corrected himself a couple minutes later saying it might be a fake twitter account. I got fooled twice!!
