Almost everything that George W. Bush advocated I was against but one thing that could never be said against him is that he is a very decent man.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XV
I listened to General Kelly's address twice and in the end lost all respect for him he has joined all the sycophants in the Trump cabinet who gave him kudos when asked. The only holdout was General Mattis who praised the military. Kelly basically confirmed what the President said and covered with the weak analogy what another General said to him giving the initial news of his sons death in action. This was totally inappropriate since it was two military men who both had lost countless men under them through the years. The only person condemned in this was the Democratic congresswoman. Also indicating the Presidents total lack of empathy is other gold star families coming out indicating they never received either letters or calls from Donald Trump. Plus the ghastly its in the mail response to a gold star parent whom he promised $25,000. Frankly the USA military does a extremely competent job in informing the families of the fallen warriors and they are professional and extremely well trained.
This became a controversy only because Trump is pigheaded in trying to pass the blame to others in his message that previous Presidents didn't do there duty. He opens up the subject and the squeals like a pig when the truth is exposed. General Kelly you are no longer a General but a manipulated bureaucrat who has given up every shred of common decency.

Kelly is a gold star father. And 4 star general. He Cleaned up the border in months. Gore a promotion to chief of staff. He is great in front of the camera and could be a rising star. You are clearly reaching because you are clearly threatened. you just don't like trump. So you just don't like anyone who backs Trump. What if Kelly us telling the truth? I think he is. I'll trust a 4 star general who lost a son fighting for this country on what is or isn't appropriate inn term of notifying and thanking gold street families over a Congress women that never stood the watch. Btw, I stood the watch too. You didn't.

Other than feeding his ego, I think being the anti-Obama is the only goal Trump has as president.
It is really the only way the continuous, avoidable mistakes by Trump make sense to me.
He seems to have some focus when undoing Obama's policies. On everything else there is a failing to even execute the basics.

WTF I'm a Canadian when I graduated from William and Mary it was the middle of the Vietnam War. My parents and my Aunt who was a Colonel in the US Army and had 30 years experience and served in WW2, Korean War and Vietnam. Told me to come back to Canada since I was the only one to pass on the family name. Plus I was against the war but I did serve in the Canadian Militia. Don't tell me about sacrifice I lost 3 uncles in WW2 and my father served in the Navy in a frigate guarding convoys to Europe and my Aunt was in mash units across North Africa, Italy and Germany during WW2.
"Kelly, himself a Gold Star father, solemnly repeated the words that Trump said to Staff Sgt. Johnson’s widow, essentially putting the lie to his boss’ claim that they were never said.“He knew what he was getting himself into.”
Kelly had a kinder spin, saying he himself heard those words from his best friend, General Joseph Dunford, when his son was killed in combat—and that the sentiment behind them was meant to convey his fallen son’s bravery, not a callous disregard for a life lost. Kelly went on to attack the congresswoman for listening in on the call, despite the fact that he too was on the phone, listening."

Gold Star Widow Releases Trump’s Call After Husband Was Killed In Afghanistan

Gold star widow Natasha De Alencar released the audio of a phone conversation she had with President Donald Trump in April about the death of her husband who was killed in Afghanistan.
“I am so sorry to hear about the whole situation. What a horrible thing, except that he’s an unbelievable hero,” Trump told her in the call about her husband Army Staff Sgt. Mark R. De Alencar, which The Washington Post released.
“Thank you. I really, really appreciated it,” she said. “I really do, sir.”
Trump also told the widow if she is ever in Washington D.C. that she is welcome in the Oval Office.
“If you’re around Washington, you come over and see me in the Oval Office,” he said. “You just come over and see me because you are just the kind of family … this is what we want.”
“Say hello to your children, and tell them your father he was a great hero that I respected,” Trump said. “Just tell them I said your father was a great hero.”
The phone call was released after White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly pushed back against Florida Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson’s criticism that Trump told a Gold Star widow “he knew what he signed up for.”

That doesn't mitigate his phone call and the defense by X General John Kelly who is now a civilian and a bureaucrat.
By the way spell check is your friend! For a man with a Doctorate your spelling is crap.

so appologize to the entire board for your complete faux rage on the matter. you took a bull crap story. fell for it. fauz raged over it. all with the intent to disinform. this goes back 8-10 pages where i said race relations are not as bad in this country as the media has made it seem for the last 2 years. but faux stats, and vitriol over extremely isolated incidents is fueling a completely fake division. the division is being completely fabricated. and your faux rage does help.
now you are canadian, and i understand thats its not that important to you that americans are united. as our northern border and beneficiary of our military strength, thats a miscalculation on your part, imo. but for americans, a divided country weakens us. makes us more vulnerable to attack. it weakens our global positioning. it puts out civilians at greater risk when the white house doesn't look like the will and full spirit of the american people are behind the CIC. and the division is completely made up. virtually out of thin air. all because trump wants responsible immigration? because he wants refugees vetted? because he wants to be able to actually afford whatever healthcare we create? because he wants law and order and the police respected for the job they do daily? putting their lives on the line? because he believes that we should "unite" around our flag, not divide around it?
there comes a point where ALL americans must stand together. together as one. and stop letting CNN, NBC bull shxt artists divide us.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XV
SD20 A few pages ago you asked me to name some Obama policies I disagreed with.
I answered your question though you never responded.
Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because now I want to ask you a question.
I see you mentioned that Trump's critics/slash detractors are the one's dividing America.
The question I pose to you is simple: Has Trump ever said/done anything that made you pause for a moment?
Anything that made you think "That's ****** up!
Perhaps you've had those thoughts but if you have it's not evident from your posts.
So that's my question to you.
Thanks.

there was nothing wrong with that phone call. nothing!! you're fauxrage bullcrap artists left winf liars just trying to detroy trump over nothing. General kelly told the damn truth!!
the congress women from florida, to use this opportunity (all of opportunities) as an instrament to lie to the american people to further divide the american people is complete crap. she's not fit for office.
CNN, NBC, tunrer, everyone going to have to back track on this. complete lies!! again!!! again and again. tapper clearly hasnt been informed yet. still going with the original story!! jackazz!!
DUH? I applauded that phone call.
What am I to apologize for? The gold star spouse who recorded the conversation with Trump is not La David Johnson's wife.
Yes I'm a Canadian and yes what happens in America does effect our country and obviously it concerns me. I might also remind you that our nation is not a colony of the USA. Our foreign policy sometimes is in step with the USA but also at times not. Canada did not join in Vietnam and Iraq 2 but joined the USA & NATO in Iraq 1, Afghanistan note Canada lost the 3rd most casualties and along with Britain were the only nations responsible for defending a province Kandahar. Canada participated in all other NATO conflicts and has Special Forces working with the Kurds in Iraq.
Refugees vetted Canada has taken in 40,000 Iraq Refugees and since they have arrived none have caused trouble. I think people can question individual police actions and patterns in those actions the last I heard that police have responsibility to preserve and protect. So by your estimation I am the one that is dividing America not the President who sits on the "Bully Pulpit" being the bully.
Every leader in a advanced democracy cringes when Trump talks and makes the world more dangerous.
