AD signed a 5/190M deal last year. Now, He would need to be fully on board with the destination due to the circumstances in which he got to LAL and his reps.

WOJ Bomb out of nowhere: Kemba+16 for Horford+Moses Brown (plus an exchange of future 2nds).

OKC clearly getting more assets. I figure Kemba will be bought out/told to stay away. With three first rounders (including 16 and (5 OR 18)), does OKC try and move up?

I wonder what the Celtics plan to do at guard. I've heard mutterings of Lonzo, but I don't think another 3 and D guard type is the answer. Lonzo doesn't drive and create enough shots. That's something the Celtics have lacked--they need a true playmaker who can also defend and knock down a 3 here and there.

Hard for me to understand that one for Boston. They save 10 million a year for a couple years? And in the process, lose the 16th overall pick and one of their best players/starting PG in the prime of his career coming off a really good season.

Well, he was coming off his worst season in the past 6 years. And he is a defensive liability in the playoffs.

He was hurt a lot this year though. When he was healthy, he looked pretty much like the old Kemba. I think the Celtics would have been wise to wait and see if he could recoup his lost value early this season before moving him.

At some point, OKC is going to have too many picks/prospects and not enough roster spots. I think that will devalue their picks a little as they become desperate to trade quantity for quality. In the coming years, one could probably do well trading down in the draft with OKC and getting more value than what Kevin Pelton's charts suggest.

I could see them trying to package 16+18 to move up in this draft (unless they get #5 from Houston). Its better to have picks than not. If nothing else, you can always trade a first for a future first.

It would not be a bad idea for us to trade down with OKC for 18&35 and pick Garuba and Ayayi.

Bet we could move Rui to OKC for some pick package.

Watching Simmons crumble in this playoffs, I don't think I'd trade Russ straight up for him. I don't want Simmons on a max deal on my team for three more years. He's a GREAT defender, athlete, and passer, but he's unplayable at the end of games.

I do wonder if we should begin worrying about Beal to Boston. The Tatum connection seems extremely strong and they could be lining themselves up for a max cap slot in 22/23.

I'll continue to harp on this point, I think It's a mistake to go into the season without having secured a long-term commitment.

For the Celtics it's about adding another max salary cap slot for a true difference maker, Bradley Beal would fit nicely up there.

Kemba is too inconsistent, a poor fit and just not somebody you can rely on to stay healthy.

The Celtics have so many recent picks on their roster, dropping a 16th overall to drop the final year of his contract isn't a terrible choice, and they get to add Moses Brown who's a major project but a decent prospect.

Brad Stevens first move as GM was a great one.

Wizards really have to get it right this offseason or it's bye-bye big Panda.

The Beal comments are just random speculation based on absolutely nothing.

The Celtics gave up a mid 1st to save 10 million for a couple years. Kemba was 3rd on the team in on/off. He might struggle to stay healthy, but when he plays, he’s good.

They still have to pay Fournier which probably takes away any chance at a max slot in 2022-2023. The move was to avoid the luxury tax.

It will also block Robert Williams from playing time, again.

They just lost their starting PG and 1st round pick. Tell me how that’s a good move?

Be a great idea. Only you don't get the #35 pick in return for moving down 3 spots from 15 to 18.

They owe us a R2 pick in '24. Maybe if we gave them back that one, your trade would work.

This is insanity. Like a first and a second to dump kemba for Al. My god this stinks of inexperience and he got worked by OKC. This is a trade that gets a gm fired and he did it on day one - ish...... Wow kenba probably had some low level trade value and to attach picks to him for horford who has a few years left on his deal as well is pure insanity. While Moses brown is a solid young big man you have Williams and just traded for horford unless you plan on flipping Al and losing triston this deal is crazy bad for Boston. This deal in theory value wise made sense with no first attached.

You also have to think about supply and demand, OKC has so many picks that if the guy they want is at 3 spots up they can afford to over pay to get their guy .

Yeah, & OTOH maybe we don't see any difference for us between the #15 & #18, in which case anything extra in the swap, anything at all, would do, so they could give us their #18 & #55 for our #15, and we'd be happy.

Or to put it another way... you can make up anything you want, but the #15 isn't getting you the #18 & #35. Just for starters, there are the teams with the #13 & 14 who'd be likely to see value in that swap.

Btw, they don't own the #35 -- tho they do have the #34 & the #36.

It would if we happened to draft the guy they really wanted at #15. But they wouldn't make that trade prior to us making our pick.

I like the move for Boston.

Moses Brown is a decent prospect who blunts the loss of the pick.

I think Boston can pursue Lowry or Derozan (different players, but both good fits IMO) as S&T's using Smart/Tristan. If they fail they can re-up Fournier.

Horford is only guaranteed $14.5M his final season, so the ability to stretch that over 3 years has value -- either to the C's or someone else.
