Not a surprise that one of the smartest teams - Dallas - is the team that signed Jameel Warney as a UDFA.

But does that make up for maxing out Harrison Barnes? Can anything really make up for that? :D

No surprise at all.

No, you don't. You remember every word of every post I write. You want me to have Vint Cerf call you and remind you of the fact?

Spurs signed David Lee for 2 years.

After the trade deadline last season, when Lee was waived, LyricalRico called his name as a possible cheap big for us. I didn't think that was a great idea.

If SA signed him, I'd say LyricalRico was more likely right than I.

Rico was right about David Lee. Lee and Nicholson on 2-year deals > Smith on 3.

I like getting Nicholson for 4 years - since he's 26 - much younger than Lee and Smith.

Oof, 2 years 3.2 million for the two years? Contenders discount or market rate for Lee?

Contender's discount -
the second year is a player option which give Lee control over the end of his career.

They aren't desperate for anything. They could put Steph Curry's daughter at center and still win 60 games.

After having been invited to training camp by the Golden State Warriors, the long and athletic big man also made some noise in his most recent game at The Drew League.

McGee posted 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks for his team, which also had Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried, en route to a Player of the Game nod.

It could be real interesting. McGee isn't a reliable defender, but he can score with efficiency. Golden State will make defenses scramble so hard to chase around their shooters, that McGee could have a field day on the offensive glass and in finishing lobs from Curry and Green.

:o

I was not expecting him to extend. How much of this is him really wanting to stay, versus a reaction to KD to GS?

And remember they added Durant, and while Durant may not be known for his defense, he is a great defender when he focuses on it. Play Durant and Green with McGee, and you can hide Javale's defensive shortcomings.

Maybe he sees this as an opportunity to score 35 points a game... or take 35 shots a game.
