So Leonsis hires new mgt and then starts meddling in less than a year. :banghead:

Pretty sure acquiring first rd picks is the “mandate” Dawkins and Winger signed up for.

It would be so Wizards for us to trade just 23 year-old Deni and keep Kuzma and Poole. I'm going to say Winger and Dawkins are not stupid, so unless we are getting back a haul for Deni, I'm just going to make believe the interest is coming from other teams and not us shopping him.

Yes, I don't think they are trading Deni. Tyus, Kuzma and potentially Kispert/Gafford are the likely candidates to be traded for future draft capital.

IMO it's just click-formation. Such a strange headline.
I don't see Ted doing this level of meddling.

Quite a few wizraeli fans are going to flip out if they trade Deni

This month Kuminga is averaging 20 pts in only 28.4 minutes per game with a TS of 68%. We aren't going to get him in a Kuzma trade.

They would probably be happy that they can root for another team.

At this point, Kuzma is a better creator, both for himself and others and has been playing bigger minutes. We don't know if Kuminga will maintain his rates if he becomes a starter and a focus of opposing defenses, look what happened to Poole when Curry is no longer there to draw focus. Kuzma is locked up longer at what seems a reasonable rate.

On the down side, Kuminga is a more efficient scorer and younger. Tontoz indicates that he has been on a strong run as well. Neither seem to be playing very good defense and the rebounding rate is similar.

No you're right...I'm quite taken aback by Kuminga's advanced stats. He's playing much better than I thought.

Do not fall for the allure of Warriors players. I don't think they're nearly as good without the presence of a certain player or the system.

Dawkins and Winger are tough negotiators, looks like they are playing hardball, as they should...

We may see trades very close to the deadline when prices go up if a team is desperate.

Yeah there is no reason to cave now. Driving a hard bargain can pay off. See Danny Ainge.

Finally realized, that stuff about management insisting on first round picks- that was just Dawkins and Winger enlisting support of the top dog so they can say "Hey, Ted insists on a first..."

I think they're being creative. All signs (such as the firing) say they have a plan. Though I still don't love the Porzingas outcome.

It'll take a while to implement whatever changes they want to make as they move away from the WUJ era. He was there for a long time; don't expect to see immediate results.

Do you think something like:

Wizards get : Lively + HardawayJr + Green/Williams + Holmes + 1st round pick
Dallas get: Kuzma + Gafford + Shamet

Would be fare value for both teams? I would take Grant Williams instead of Green too. If Dallas is in win-now mode I don't think our package is bad value for Lively and first. And for us, Lively could be the center of our future and we get a pick.

Mandate lol what a joke. Not one mandating anything lol. That's been the plan all along lol.

I'm 1000% sure we are not actively shopping our best player under 25. Are people interested in a 23 year old having his best season locked in to an under market value deal. Of course they are. His name is probably on every metric sheet when it comes to trade targets. I doubt we move him unless we get a stupid kind of multiple unprotected pick kind of offer.

Yes, getting Lively.+1st is the only way a trade to Dallas is acceptable …but Dallas has reportedly said he is out of any trade discussions…
