I agree completely. The big brain play here is to actually try to blow it up, if they can somehow. That team is completely cooked with those two on the books.

It would be interesting if they could trade Embiid for one young talent and cap filler - like maybe to Golden State for Kuminga. (That's actually a bad example because it's impossible to make the salaries work out, but you get the idea.)

If they could turn Embiid into one good wing, they'd hit the ground running on the rebuild with Maxey, McCain, Good Young Wing and a high 2025 draft pick in the fold.

George probably can't be traded for value given his play, age, injury history and contract.

The problem is who's even giving up this good young wing? That also thinks Embiid can push them into contention? That also NEEDS Embiid to be contenders? That also is a roster fit?

Maybe, if the 76ers are desperate and want to blow it up desperately:

76ers trade:

Joel Embiid

76ers get
Myles Turner
Obi Toppin
Benedict Mathurin
Aaron Nesmith
2025 top 10 protected 1st
2027 lottery protected 1st
2028 pick swap

If Halliburton returns to form that team can make some noise in the playoffs, but...

What’s folks thoughts on this guy:

Johni Broome, Auburn
Power Forward / Center
6-10, 235lb
22 close to 23 by the draft I think

Last 4 games he’s put up nice stat lines

Next game is 12/4 vs Duke

See above. I watched his last two games on TV.

An NBA comparison would be Julius Randle.

Broome will be a first round pick. But I think Eric Dixon is on the same level.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Broome and Eric Dixon are round two picks with first round talent.

So far this year, Broome is putting up the best numbers I've ever seen -- better than Zion. Now... that's in 7 games/212 minutes, but still -- wow.

& he also put up tremendous numbers last year, btw.

Rutgers playing at 3:30 tomorrow. Harper and Bailey put in quite a show last game even though they lost.

Texas A&M played a lot of zone which was effective against Harper. He couldn't get into the paint at will like he did the previous game and when he did get inside he got his shot blocked a few times.

I was watching a big board vid that referred to Fears as this year's Bub.

Dylan Harper is my #1. He's a lead guard and future #1 option. Cooper Flagg is a rock solid #2 pick who will be a two-way star at the next level as an elite 2nd or 3rd option.

We got a 28% chance of landing one of those 2. It gets murky to me after that.

Agreed. Harper and Flagg look like can't miss prospects. For what is worth, some NBA draft pundits are comparing Harper to college James Harden...

After that, Ace Bailey has some question marks and I personally like VJ Edgecombe who is not shooting well to start the season but who is a top tier athlete and a pest defensively. His performance during the pre Olympic qualifiers with Bahamas was strong for a teenager.

To me Flagg is the one with question marks. His shot is suspect but the real problem is ball handling. He has a lot of ball handling turnovers and some of them seem really unforced. I dont see any craftiness at all. If the defense stops his first move he doesn't seem to have any counters.

Duke plays #2 Auburn tonight.

Yeah that game tonight will be good to watch. I think his handle is fine for a PF he won’t be asked to do all he’s doing now in the NBA, his passing and court vision is nice for a 4, his shot, athleticism & coordination look good, and his defense & motor. Still have him 1, and Harper 2. IMO we end up top 2 and we’re in good.

OTOH watched BYU & Creighton last night and Egor looked physically overmatched, I think he missed every shot he took.

I disagree. There are several guys who would have gone number 1 in last years draft. I just think Flagg was over hyped prior to the season.

I disagree.

There are second rounders who would ordinarily be mid-first (Kam Jones, Eric Dixon).

Gotta admit that the NBA changing the lottery rules effective five years ago, just in time for our Wall/Beal team to totally implode was and is infuriating. To know we could easily drop to the 5 slot, even with the worst record in the league, and to have such piddling odds to grab the #1 or a top 3 pick is just mind blowingly frustrating. I cannot understand why the league agreed to this other than that the powers tricked the idiot owners in crap cities players never want to move too. It's utterly asinine, and knowing there's basically a coin toss chance we get the #5 pick, even if we are just unbelievably bad is beyond frustrating.
