Dude, I had this injury last year. I know what I'm talking about. Read Ivan's detailed blog post. He's spot on. This is an injury that requires rest and phys therapy. This has nothingn to do with Bo Jackson's injury. It smells in here; stop talking out of your ass.

Who the hell are you to accuse me of anything a##hole? I work in radiology and watch doctors misdiagnose things all the time. A labrum injury to couchpotatofishercob probably makes no difference since the next time you break a sweat twice in a week will be the first. Caron pounds on his hip 82 games/year + practice + offseason workouts on hardwood floors. If his injury isn't surgically repaired and given ENOUGH TIME TO HEAL 100% (which the wizmedstaff NEVER seem to allow...), it will continue to deteriorate until it gets to where it'll never be healthy enough to take the beating required in professional basketball.

BTW read the news reports the next few days on Caron...I think you'll see that I know what I'm talking about just a little bit.

My mom also works in radiology and this guy is dead right. I tried gettin some info out of her on labrum tears and she was able to tell me pretty much word for word what hes saying. The same injury for some random joe is WAY different than an NBA player. They are also WAY more prone to reinjury than some random guy.

Anyways any more info on him like when hell be back or if hell try and play on it for the playoffs? With a weak east except for like the top 3-4 teams if the Wiz get gil jamison and caron on the floor together they can do some damage.

is there any injury this statement does not apply to?

we have not been told the severity of the tear, nor do i think we will be told. therefore it is all just speculation. butler is anticipated to return. that does not mean he actually will (though i am sure he will try) or that he will be effective when he does.

Yeah i agree with this, but some fans in this thread were saying they had the same injury so that made them experts, which just isnt true. Shouldnt be speaking on something if you dont know what your talking about

Well, if both a poster on the Wizboard and your Mom are hired staff in radiology departments, I'm not sure that you could possibly get more credible assessments of the WIzards' medical staff's treatment of Caron.

In an unrelated note, I will soon commence surfing lessons from CCJ, seeing as he lives in Hawaii and all....

My bet is that Butler will eventually have to have surgery, just like Gil eventually had to have another surgery and Hayes eventually had to have surgery and Jamison eventually had to have surgery and Stackhouse eventually had to have surgery, etc.

Any time the Wiz staff initially identify something as a sprain or tendinitis or something that only requires rest/treatment, only to "discover" after a couple weeks of unsuccessful rehab that it's really more serious, it ALWAYS means surgery.

I'm also thinking that DeShawn and AD will have to get scoped as well.

^ I think that DS and AD can wait till the offseason but they'll still probably have to at least get those joints cleaned out.

They were just talking on Comcast how Caron was at the bowling party last night, and WAS bowling. He had to be stopped, they said WHAT ARE YOU DOING, you are hurt.

From what I read, just b/c you have a slight tear doesn't make you handicap. You can do everything, just depends on the person's threshold of pain.

I'm thinking of writing a book entitled, "Black Men Don't Surf" to be followed by "Brothers Never Die Doing This" :noway:

No self-respecting black man's going out by surfboard. None of us are getting bit by a shark, either. I got scared snorkeling one time when a fish that was just a little too big swam by my leg.

Only white folks jump from bungy cords, sky dive, walk tight ropes, etc. and for good reason. Y'all can get away with that. We cannot. We jump from aircraft--when in military training. Heck, my wife has jumped from helicopters. So has my dad. But neither one of them would do it for fun. They know the rules on how not to go out if you're black.

We have heart attacks, strokes, cancer, diabetes complications. Some of us die by shootings, in domestic violence, etc.

Oh, we do drown. Jimmy the Greek, no, make that Al Campanis said we couldn't swim. He was close. We just can't swim good.

Not good enough to surf, fisher.

(On a serious note, I have met a black, competitive surfer, who was working in a restaurant on the North Shore. I also read a National Geographic article about an African country with lots of surfers. Surfing might have originated there.

Note-- I have on occasion swam parallel to the shore line, but not far out at all, at various beaches. Enough so that one tourists did ask me if I do surf.)

Ahh, so there was a bowling party last night. Now it all makes sense.

The guy I split season tickets with was at the Caps game last night and after the first period he ran out to get a beverage and ran into N1 and DS2 in the hallway.

He said they were with security and headed towards the elevators (presumably to the parking garage after the bowling event).

He got a pretty sweet picture of him, N1 (wearing a wind breaker and carrying a bowling ball bag) and DeShawn (sporting a red T-shirt with "I can't feel my face" in gold glitter on the front).

I don't have a photobucket (or similar) account but I'll see if we can figure out a way to post the picture on the board (assuming my buddy is OK with it).

they are not wearing regulation footwear!!!!! and with those baggy jeans covering the heel to boot. the wiz training staff strikes again. would walter ray williams jr bowl without his shoes and risk a sprained ankle? i dont think so. and then there's nick young not using the fingerholes. egads man, we should be thankful that mcguire doesnt have a broken foot. this bowling party was dangerous. maybe they should stick to duckpins.

btw: i so want a wizards bowling shirt. i just hope it says "pin pals" on the back.

It's OK because the jeans are not "excessively" baggy, otherwise they wouldn't meet the "David Stern Endorsed" Lucky Strike dress code standard:
