No first round pick in this deep draft doesn't help when negotiating trades.

Mahinmi+future 1st for Grant+Lopez+two 2nds?

Lopez is a huge upgrade over Mahinmi and expires a year sooner. I like Grant (darn good shooter)

Just wait for Wade to get bought out, and make a pitch. That said, if he gets bought out, will he head to CLE?

Bulls must have really liked Markannen. Still, that feels really weak for the Bulls in terms of a return for one of the best two-way SF's in the league....

I wonder if some of their other young bigs are available to make way for Lauri? Could we nab Portis in a small trade, or sign Mirotic for some of the MLE?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I can see him trying to trade him first because its 24 mill. You won't be getting out of that and I have a feeling they either pay up or Wade stays a bull. Trade him for a young player on a not so good contract. If i were the bulls I would call portland, and say yo, a first, crabe, leaonard and harkles for wade and lopez? gets those two bad contracts off the books and give portland some first power and a rel starting center. Also if the bulls are going rebuild it won't hurt them to eat 2 years of young players on bad deals. Who knows they might get better. it makes sens for every one involved.

Agreed, I think Chicago is going to exhaust trade possibilities. Hadn't thought of the Portland idea, that's actually very interesting. Although I'd assume Wade would push to get to a contender. To the checker!

You're probably right. The Bulls want assets. OTOH, the Bulls just picked up $3.5M last night from GS; that's money that could go right towards buying out Wade.

If Wade were an unencumbered FA with no buyout to fall back on, what would he get on the open market? $10-15M/year? I don't really know. Given the size of his current contract, perhaps it's possible for Wade to give enough money back to make a buyout feasible for CHI, while still collecting more $ than he would otherwise get this season on the open market. Of course, this also depends on how much of a haircut Wade is willing to accept in order to choose his own main event team, rather than get shipped to a mid-carder like Portland. If he's motivated to play for another ring, he'll give back more.

Wade actually would help us as a combo guard off the bench. We dump Mahinmi as well.

Nah, I don't see the Bulls wanting to add any salary now that they're openly rebuilding. Especially for a pick that would be that low. I also don't believe Wade would agree to come off the bench. Not yet.

Same salary issue, plus even if they were willing to accept salary it's not enough value for them.

If he was motivated by a ring and not money, he would have opted out from the jump !

Wade isn't going to help anybody get a ring. & he isn't going to get $10m. He has little left in the tank. Didn't play even slightly well last year.

Well, here's a decent backup 2 who is available. And I'm not starting a new thread just to post this.

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1394/arron-afflalo

The Kings are releasing Arron Afflalo.
The Kings added some really nice perimeter depth on Thursday with De'Aaron Fox, Justin Jackson and Frank Mason. Plus, they could also be adding Bogdan Bogdanovic for next year, so they may have several new pieces to their backcourt compared to the start of the 2016-17 season. As for Afflalo, he is still 31 and he may be looking to join a contender next year

No Afflalo, please. Over the hill; not all that good at his peak.

Use the spot to build the future of the team.

Just watched a video on CSN Mid Atlantic making the case to not resign Otto and make a run at Blake Griffin to show John Wall that they are serious about making a run and getting him pieces and it would change how the fan base would be next season. John would have a new alley oops partner, i guess he's a better defender than Keef but the price tag and injury risk concerns me. I'm sure a lot of people said the same thing about Brad tho. Thoughts?

Probably can't afford him unless he comes way down from $12M but let's keep track now. PIF likes, what 2-3 players in the league outside Otto Porter and hates everybody else that's available? Of course Afflalo is over the hill, which is why he's now a bench player, but is still is a pretty good 3-point shooter. Personally, I'd like a veteran wing, something we've needed for years. Not injury-prone Alan Anderson or slow-ass Marcus Thornton. Now if you can find a cheaper, younger Afflalo who is available, be my guest. There's a remote possibility he'd come here for cheap just to play for a decent team.
