Mob gangsters would use Billups favorability to lure gamblers into poker games and rip them off.

I'm kidding, of course.

It really is amazing to me that NBA players and ex-players are willing to risk jail time for chump change in gambling. Rozier has made $135 MILLION dollars in the NBA! Billups made $107 MILLION as a player, plus millions more as a coach. The Rozier scandal involved roughly $13,000 in suspicious bets.

I'm sure you know this, but gambling isn't necessarily about the money. It's an addiction...

This contract is probably what I would offer Bilal.

That's a real good observation. It's certainly a relevant comparison when the negotiations start. Camara is a little better defensively, and a little more durable, but Bilal, at his age, has a better chance of a break out after the contract is signed. I'd be very happy with something in the $20-22M a year range, even better if it's a declining contract.

If we have to pay the rookies the new norm, I believe Sharpe and Camara got between 82 and 90 million. That's what I would offer Sarr and Bilal at this point unless they make a significant leaps in their development. I just can't see $125 million or whatever it is that Christian Braun got.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

I'm not talking about gambling. I get that guys like Michael Jordan are gambling addicts who crave the competitive nature of it. I'm talking about getting involved with illegally FIXING a gambling bet.

Revisiting the Spurs giving Fox the max after they knew their draft position, and that they would be taking Harper with Flagg off the board. Last night they did just fine with the 1-2 punch of Castle/Harper and Fox on the bench. I doubt if the Spurs max more than three players, so I wonder who is most-likely to be traded, Spurs fans were discussing this during the summer.

They traded a lot for Fox. They couldn't just let him walk.

Ultimately, they'll have to get rid of one of them. But they can wait a year and see if Harper is ready to take over as lead guard.
