Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
Teletovic and Dellavedova for Mahinmi?
Mahinmi gives them a backup C to help mold Makker into a defensive C while Delly gives us a combo guard to slide in at either spot. We can hope Teletovic can be our backup stretch 4 due to the "Wall effect". We eat a little more up front, but I believe Teletovic ends a year sooner. I don't know if either team does it but why not post it? It's the offseason.

I would do Mahinmi and smith for henson and Delly. Toss in a second or aaron white to move it along. I want no parts of teletovic.

Secondly, Porter over the next 4 years is likely to be a better player and a better fit than Griffin. Griffin looks like he peaked in his 4th season and has lost a step since.
Finally, even if we decided to trade Porter for another player, I'd much rather go after Paul George, Gordon Hayward, or Paul Millsap.
I know, why you coming at me bro? I was talking about my fav punching bag Beal.
Not coming at you. Coming at gravytrain.
Why are you coming at me?

Because trading for Blake Griffin is a bad idea.

Correct! -- Except I've said it about a dozen times, not just once!
I'm more worries about our starters, to tell the truth -- everyone had a career year last year & we won 49 games. What happens if a couple of them don't have career years, & we have a couple more injuries?
(I'm thinkin' Marcus Keene & Devin Robinson come in & blow up. Right? We lose nothing. A star is born. 2 stars, I mean -- right?)

Most likely an overpriced vet without a really useful skillset.
My wish list (and the Terp lover in me hates myself for saying this) starts with Reddick because at least, you know, he has one basic skill that happens to correspond with what we need...and no, that skill set is not "being annoying."
What would it take to get him? He wants to move on from his 4 yr, $27MM contract.
What would it take? Three years, $27MM?
Would the Wiz go into Lux tax territory for him? Would he move the needle at all?
Wall, Frazier, Sato
Beal, Reddick, Mac
OP, Kelly,
MM, Smith
MG, Mahinmi
That second unit wouldn't be as laughably bad as this year's.
We can't afford to sign Reddick. We aren't going to sign any even slightly high-priced FAs. Not unless we trade Gortat. But, if we trade Gortat our Center rotation is Mahinmi (often injured) & Smith (not very good).

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
Honestly if melo will waive his no trade clause for us, in all honesty, if we can dump mahinmi on a team for a second like philly, and then smith on some team for aaron white or something. take melo in maybe just for filler cuz lets face it he's not worth much at his age and contract. he would still be an upgrade to the team if we don't loose any core pieces bringing him in. If he is willing to buy into the system and play the way we need him too. Why not take a flyer on him, his contract is short, hes not PG but for **** sakes I'd rather have melo and a min contract or exception center than mahinmi.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
I'd be completely down for acquiring Melo if the price is right. I know he's never been the superstar he's labeled as but in the right place, I think he could be really effective. With Wall leading the pack and Beal to spread the floor, it could work.
Wall
Beal
Porter
Melo
Gortat
I like it.

If you're the Knicks and considering buying Melo out, why not take on Ian, Oubre, and maybe Bojan included in a S&T?

Honestly, thats was to much money to eat, even for the knicks.
If i were EG I would call the 76ers
be like look. We will give you a second to take mahinmi. and cash in exchange.
You send covington to NYC, we send NYC tomas and a 2020 draft pick. I mean look maybe Bogz can go in a sign and trade clears our money just the same as reouncing his cap hold. but with the cap room they are generating they can just sign him. Or just not involve covington and we make it a 2019 pick its still better than buying him out and melo has leverage.
2 young guys on cheep deals and a draft pick for melo is pretty good for him actually and the cap room would be huge. Also if you can talk melo into coming off the bench. Dear god he would destroy bench units. We would still have moves to make but I think we could move Josh and Gortat for something.
Get it done EG!

The Knicks have their own injury-prone center on a godawful contract. I doubt they'd want ours. Also, there's no way I move Oubre in a Melo deal.

Why ? if the deal is right ? hats the harm, he is infinitely better than anyone we had on our bench last year. he would be an eilite 6 th man, es the scoring punch you need off a bench.

Melo and Keif would be nice. keif is a solid defender and a solid player. If we can add melo to the bench and Keif keep starting with that D we would be so much better.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
Melo could be what this team needs. Although I am not in favor of loosing any of our starting 5 in a trade, nor would I want any part of his currently unfavorable contract, I would like to see Melo as a Wizard. He would, of course, come off the bench. No doubt, he will end up being the best 6th man in the NBA for the next 3 or so years.

John Wall admitted he is attempting to recruit Paul George to the Washington Wizards.
"I am talking to some guys, Paul. I know his ultimate goal of where he wants to be. I'm trying to see if we can make something happen," Wall told The Undefeated before the NBA Awards on Monday night.
The Wizards have had trade conversations with the Pacers, a source said. The source added that the Pacers have been patient and no deal with the Wizards is close at the moment.
The Wizards would likely need to include Otto Porter Jr. in a sign-and-trade in order to acquire George.
"Look at our team. We are one piece away," Wall said. "We have the point guard, we have the shooting guard, we have the center, we have the power forward. Our 3-man, [Otto Porter Jr.], did great for us. You can't take nothing away from what he did. But, [George] is a guy that can guard LeBron and go back at LeBron. It's a piece that you're going to need to win. If you don't have a guy who can do that, you don't have a chance. ...
"You got to add another star. You got to add another piece. You got to have three guys. And that's what it's looking like."
Asked about the Wizards' chances to get George, Wall said: "Right now, I don't know. Indiana has all the rights to do whatever they want. And if he goes where he doesn't want to go, he doesn't have to sign next year."

Are you guys 1 piece away? Could Paul George put you over the top to win the EAST? Maybe win the EAST but probably won't beat the warriors.

If the Pacers are willing to work with the Wizards on a trade Grunfeld has to make it. Porter isn't going to be worth the contract he gets especially as a 4th option offensively. George is better than Porter in every basketball skill besides catch and shoot. This is a no brainer.
