Can I sneak in a Hoyas question, since the G-town thread seems to be long dead - and I know we have some Hoya fans. Marcus Derrickson - 6'7/6'8 250 with a 7'1 wingspan - last game against Butler - 23 points (took just 10 shots and made 3 of 4 3's), 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks - has he become a legit NBA prospect? I remember watching him as a freshman making 25 footers and with his big-boned body and good athleticism thinking this guy is gonna be a good offensive player. But he's a junior now and just finally taking a big step up. But he's still had only 1 game all season that he's got more than 10 FGA's - the first game of the season when he had 12. And while I'm here, any thoughts on Jessie Govan's chances to make the NBA?

Nobody talks about him, but Kevin Huerter is a legit NBA prospect, imo. He's got deep NBA 3 point range, good size for the 2 and defends well. Needs to add strength and some swag.

In my Christmas gift to the Wizards thread, I've only given them 10.

Jessie Govan is one of the players I've been watching. He fouls an awful lot. I don't know enough about the guy yet but he is on the radar.

Who are some other players?

Bryson Scott of Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. Plays really good defense and is a solid athlete.

Jaylen Barford and another guard Daryl Macon of Arkansas are both NBA prospects. Don't be shocked if Arkansas ends up in the final four or makes a really deep run in the NCAA tournament.

Bennie Boatwright of USC. He played very well in Hawaii's Diamondback classic. I watched one game in person when Miami beat UH. Kid named Buell for Miami stood out.

Another no-brainer like Jevon Carter of West Virginia is Jalen Brunson of Villanova.

Bump the thread and start posting in it.

I was pretty much the only participant so I let it die.

And as for Derrickson and Govan, they've both made huge jumps.

Yeah, I know the competition has been poo poo but both of those guys are very skilled.

Personally, I think they both have a chance to make it in the league at some point.

Probably need some G-League time though.

Kevin Huerter does not strike me as an NBA player. He's not quick. He's not strong. I just don't see it.

Bruno Fernando and Darryl Morsell are much better prospects.

I hope to be proven wrong.

Right thread.

Expect nothing special from the Terrapins this year. This is an NIT team if I ever saw one.

That's a killer. Going into the season, I thought he needed to be their best player. Without him, they're done.

I didn't think Maryland was a lock with Jackson, not knowing he was playing a banged-up shoulder. Now, I sincerely doubt they will make the tournament or get higher than a .500 Big 10 record. Fortunately, the league is not that good but I just don't see them better than Purdue, Mich State, Minnesota, Michigan, NW, etc. Penn State will be a very tough test in their first game of the New Year.

Same here.

Count me among those who have discovered Turgeon is not a very good coach. He recruits fairly well but none of his recruits seem to improve at Maryland. Every team of his is plagued with turnovers.

If not for Melo Trimble Coach Turgeon would have been on the hot seat years back.
