Nate, just wondering. Why did you prefer Tre to Fears?

Fears is undersized. I don’t like undersized PGs unless they are virtually flawless on offense and Fears has too many flaws (turnovers, shooting). I’m just not sure I can envision him on a second round playoff team.

Tre is a prototypical SG with good size and length. . He definitely can play in a playoff game.

Is Mathurin a good comp for Tre?

Maluach slipping this far may push the other centers back to #18.

Dat, tell us what you see him being in year 3? What NBA comp?

Also, in watching his highlights, I saw a better passer than advertised. I was surprised — he seemed to have some point guard skills.

Tre is great shooter and scorer with the size and length to be an outstanding defender if he puts in the work. Look for Marcus Smart to help with the D part.

Let’s go!

I haven’t watched college hoops in years, is his defense as bad as people are saying? I don’t have a lot of faith in prospects being good on the defensive end at the nba level if they’re struggling with it in college.

Taller, longer Tyler Herro.

Gosh I hope so!
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

CMB was mostly highly rated, not too surprising, the Toronto board must be having a meltdown

I think Tre has better handles but that's not bad. Mathurin might be a better athlete. But KOC compared him to Ray Allen and Tyler Herro. I mean Ray Allen is a bit much but I'd take Tyler.

Sounds like he's been resting on his laurels (his jumper) his whole career. I will absolutely concede, with that skill, the length, and athleticism, he can become great, hopefully that desire is in his chest and in his head. .

You haven’t been paying attention then. By all reports, he may be the hardest worker in the draft. Complete gym rat.

Don't buy it at all, not at all, every single person I've heard on the guy talks about the pathetic effort on D, and total disinterest in driving to the hoop. If he's just a glorified, ideal sized, jump shooter, then he has no business going top 10, let alone top 6.

Now if he turns that work you suggest into actual consistent effort, and learning on D, and inside, then he can become a superstar, but if he didn't do it in college, why am I gonna believe he's suddenly gonna give a ---- after getting into the NBA. I'm wait and see mode.

I hate the pick because I know where this profile goes to die, if the player doesn't put in the work to be great in terms of defense and offense, if you're right from your perspective, and he puts that effort into the game itself, then I'll totally concede, he's well worth the 6, I just have not heard, whatsoever, he ever has.

Did the kid do something to you personally? Man, at this point at least give him a chance to play.

Sorber is now 4th on Bilas list. Can he last to 18?

His on ball defense is actually pretty good. He is a little undisciplined and lackadaisical off ball, but I think he can be coached up.

EVERY draft analyst had Johnson in the top ten. Some had him as high as 3.

You’re blowing way out of proportion this stuff about his effort on D and “disinterest” in driving to the hoop.

I think he's an acquired taste who fans will fall in love with once they realize what type of player he is. He does need to find a jumper to stay on the floor more. Draymond could survive with Steph and Klay but even he has a semblance of a shot.

That's exactly what he said, after an obviously exasperated head-shake. Wonder if he's just pissy about heading off to Canada. On a related note, doesn't anyone coach these guys about how to act on camera when their name is called?

And he also doesn't conflict with the positions of the guys we're hoping for early in the '26 draft, yes?

Dybantsa's a Wing, Peterson a combo guard, I think Boozer is a 4, and Ament is a Wing too if memory serves, so.....take from that what you will, I think both Ament and Dybantsa are more 3's, than 2's, so at least there's that.
