Yeah Comey would have a strong case in a countersuit for malicious prosecution.

Speaking of reasons to expect a climate change catastrophe, like an extinction level event, I give you this:
https://www.eesi.org/articles/view/data-center-energy-needs-are-upending-power-grids-and-threatening-the-climate
It's easy to imagine a scenario where there's an unexpectedly severe reaction of the climate to carbon in the atmosphere because of some sort of cascade of disasters. Add on to that unexpectedly high demand for fossil fuels from AI, and zero progress in renewables because of Trump.

Is it possible that a judges dismisses the case before it even goes to trial? The grand jury vote for the indictment was pretty close(only 2 votes over the threshold).

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

soooo... he's planning to massacre peaceful protesters in Portland?
Can we have him tried and executed for treason if he does this? Just how much immunity did the SCOTUS give him?

All of it. So long as he declares it in his mind as a Presidential action.

For better or worse, no.

That grand jury vote is a good indication of how hard it will be to get 12 jurors to convict, considering a grand jury only hears the prosecution’s side of the case.

And the standard of evidence is substantially lower,
sorry, I mean the evidence has to be much higher.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
all fair points, but the judge isn't going to dismiss. it's going to trial, and regardless of outcome, it gives the Trump administration talking points to distract

The Dictatorship desperately wants mass protests so they can initiate further crackdowns, then try to cancel the midterms, although illegal.

Laura Loomer was all over X fuming about Christianity being under attack, that Muslims are taking over Michigan and won't do anything about it.
The shooter turns out to be a white, USMC veteran who had US flags in his truck. His trailer had Trump/Vance signs on the lawn. It doesn't take a genius to deduce this was done in retaliation for Tyler Robinson, raised a Mormon, having killed Charlie Kirk, who claimed to be a Christian.

It doesn’t matter CCJ, she is mimicking and trafficking in the same manipulation tactics as Trump, they all sing the same song for the benefit of their extremely gullible base, owning and controlling the public narrative is all that matters.

The Dictatorship desperately wants mass protests so they can initiate further crackdowns, then try to cancel the midterms, although illegal.
Specifically, they want either protesters not to show up, so they can crow about eliminating crime, or they want footage of protesters being violent. Either way they win, so you can't just not show up. But these guys are not masterminds. They're bringing in military folks with zero police training, meaning they'll be undisciplined/uncontrollably violent.
Now, I'm not a "non-violent protest all the time no matter what" white moderate that MLK Jr. warned about. Righteous anger has its place, when intentionally directed. And the spontaneous riots that burst out after MLK Jr's assassination were a symptom of unbearable oppression that went too far, and we can learn from it.
I think in *this* particular context you need to go the non violent route, but do it with intention and strategy. The purpose of non-violent protest is to catch police being brutal, which should be easy given how stupid the Trump admin is being in sending in angry right wing women beaters from ICE and untrained National Guardsfolks. Democratic leadership needs to coordinate a trained corps of volunteers to go out and film everything, everywhere, to be in constant contact with each other, and to have a war room to direct people to hot spots (but not everybody!). Think through carefully how you want to engage, how close to get, what your rights are - you have a right to peaceably assemble! If that provokes an angry wife beating ICE officer into body slamming you that is POLICE BRUTALITY no matter how Fox spins it. Catch it on film. And don't trust the oligarch owned MSM to broadcast - flood the zone with truth until at least one of the videos goes viral and the MSM has no choice but to cover it.
Local Portland officials are concerned that the incompetent untrained National Guardsfolk will absolutely just straight up murder protesters and that's a legit concern. But I think Trump has backed down on his instructions to slaughter innocents with the full force of the military, that was clearly the result of a recent conversation with Stephen Miller. Then he went and talked to the Governor of Oregon who set him straight on what was actually happening, which is that there are peaceful protests every day at the ICE facilities in Portland and at night a smaller group of more aggressive agitators come out. The city is not on fire, and even the aggressive protesters are not breaking laws by being there, but there have been scuffles with the police resulting in injuries on both sides. That is a problem that can be solved without massacring protesters like Stephen Miller wants.
The flip flop on "FULL FORCE" is hilarious and terrifying. We've known for awhile that Trump is a gullible idiot who is most influenced by the most recent conversation he's had. It's terrifying, therefore, that Stephen Miller has an opportunity to be in his ear at all times like Wormtongue. Trump is clearly too stupid to do this job and he should resign immediately.

The generals sat in stony silence during Trump and Hegseth's Nazi rally. Trump had to beg them to applaud. Maybe there's hope for us yet.
