Listening to media folks around the NBA, Beal's got a great rep and is considered a prime young NBA player - even a "playmaker". Remember, it's not what we think, it's what Lebron and Cleveland's nutty owner think. Keiff is a very capable PF, and Burke is a backup PG who's made 46.5% of his 3's this year, and despite his obvious problems, he's averaging 7.5 assists to 2.4 to's per 35 minutes this month (12 games). Yes, you can always find stats to twist to your desires. It does leave us with a hole at the 2, but Shumpert's a 3 and D guard who's making 40.6 of his 3's this season. Love's been around a long time, but he's just 28 and signed for 3 more full seasons. You know he'll be motivated to do well in the playoffs.

Not thats horrible for us and gives lebron the most dangerous backcourt duo even better than klay and curry...this is all out bad trade

Our frontcourt defense becomes a turnstile...
We take away the only 2 guys that can get a bucket without wall...

If trading morris and beal rather get an all around player...love is good but not worth Beal and morris, we would basically be making sure Cleveland goes to the finals for the next 5 years pairing Beal with irving

When you think about the fact that we are 3-4 guys on the bench away from being a threat to the cavs. then yes that deal makes no sense.

Jason Hart might not start right away but he's like Crowder--a sure thing contributor.

This is a DEEP draft.

Gotta have Hart. One excuse I'll give GM's on Brodgon - he turned 24 in December. Usually it's safe to ignore prospects his age.

Thats generally good advice with bigs and bigger wings like SF and small 4s. but guards are a little different?

You did say generally. There are exceptions.

Taj Gibson was 24 when he was drafted out of USC. Seven years later, he's still with the Bulls, having outlasted Joakim Noah. Bernard James was 27 when the Mavericks selected him from Florida State by the Mavericks. (He served in the Air Force, with a tour in Iraq, prior to playing NCAA basketball).

Hassan Whiteside was drafted at age by the Kings. However, his game didn't come together until he went the D-League and China. He was 24 before he became a very good NBA player. His game blossomed late.

I believe the players would be MUCH BETTER if they all played 3 or 4 years of NCAA ball. Tim Duncan is the best example. Kareem. They both got better playing NCAA ball four years.

Some players play at smaller schools and then go play in Europe. They peak at 24-27 years of age.
The Wizards shoukd have drafted Derik Queen

I told you so :banghead:

Washington trades
Nicholsonhttp://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hj3ron6
Burke
Thornton
2017 1st unprotected, 2018 2nd

Washington receives
Mosgov
Lou

Washington gets their bench...Mosgov isn't as good as mahinmi but he's a healthy body and can protect the rim Leonard gives a stretch 4 or 5...Williams becomes the backup guard to keep the bench in games

Lakers trade
Deng
Mosgov
Lou

Lakers receive
Nicholson
Thorton
Cleveland 1st,

Lakers get out of the 2 big mistakes they made last summer open up cap room for this summer considering they're still a great free agent destination and get a pick for lou

Wizards 2017 unprotected, wiz 2018 2nd

Suns trade Chandler for Deng but gets a 1st and a 2nd...
Helps them tank and bring a quality vet to the locker room...Suns also have the best health facilities and can probably make something out of Deng and ezeli to get value back in the future...wizards 1st are also the lowest 1st they can probably get for chandler in a great draft...

*****Might can upgrade the wiz 2nd to a 2019 top 20 protected if needed for value to the suns...but i think the current value is fair
******Suns can maybe have Mosgov instead of Deng if they want...but won't get a 2nd or wiz 2019 pick

They could net two first rounders, at least.

Wow, two whole 1st for all those guys ??? :o Thanks for the WAS talent evaluation there....I can see why the Wiz/Nuggs don't do a lot of deals together !!

First off, I said at least. Secondly, you're overrating your talent. Nelson and Arthur won't fetch you a first rounder and would probably be add-ons in trades to make salaries match.

Gallinari could net you a first rounder, but Denver's probably not going to trade him. Nor should they. Like Dat said, Barton and Chandler together could net you another pick. The market is the market though, teams aren't going to be lining up at the door offering first round picks like it's candy.

Denver's got a ton of talent, they probably need to make 1 or 2 moves and they're a legit 50 win team.

A four team trade that makes us 10 wins better and everyone else worse? Deneem my man, I don't think that one is very likely.

You can not look at those win or loss projections with trades, people have different role on different teams and a lot of trades are centered around picks and long term plans that do not factor in to win/loss numbers right now. I did not look at those trades well enough, but most 4 team deals are super convoluted and complicated. that's why you almost never seem them go down in real life.

We get the worst of the contracts...
And give up a pick...
Lakers shed salary
Blazers swap Leonard for chandler
Suns swap Chandler for deng

We get an extra 10 wins because we turn out unplayable pieces
Nicholson/burke/Thorton/2017 1st
Into
Lou, Leonard, mosgov...
Not the best bunch, but combine with oubre and sato a pretty good bench

I think this is gawd awful but regardless, this deal would pretty much ensure Otto does not get re-signed because we'd be significantly above the luxury tax line. You add at least $13 million on the salary cap for next year and beyond. Were already at a point where we might have to shave off salary in order to re-sign Porter and avoid paying the luxury tax next year.

What do you guys think about Tyreke Evans for Trey Burke, Andrew Nicholson, and a 2017 2nd rounder?

Not sure the Pelicans do it but

Spoiler alert. Hollinger's "+10 wins added" does not actually equate to wins in reality.

I don't post often, so when I do its because I'm very compelled. This trade is horrific. Possibly the worst I've ever seen on this website for so many reasons.

Switch it to a 2018 or 2019 first. them that deal might get done. He is walking out after the season and never coming back, everyone knows that he is not in anyway residing there. I would rather offer them a first and mahinmi for evans and A.A. because they we can go to a team like denver and unload Nicholson and couple of seconds or something for Nelson+Petr Cornelie.
Then you roll out
Wall/Nelson/Tomas
Beal/Evans/McCellan
Porter/Kelley/Sign someone
Morris/Smith/Ochifu
Gortat/Ajinca/Sign someone
I feel like House and thornton and burke should be cut or moved too lol. Just my opinion. Maybe burke, thornton and burke would be enough to get you caspi lol. Probably not lol.

Is there any guard we can sign off the street that would be better than Burke? Or maybe we can trade our expirings + a 2nd for a slight upgrade at 2 guard

2nd rounders are too valuable to trade for a "slight upgrade".

Return to Washington Wizards
