The Wizards suck and it's our two self proclaimed superstars that are to blame.
Until these guys dig down deep inside and start realizing that they're a big part of the problem the Wizards are going to continue to be a middling, underachieving franchise in a league littered with mediocre teams.
From the constant complaining to the refs, the lack of respect they are perceiving around the league, to the scowls and chest pounding on inconsequential plays, those two are quickly turning into an extremely unlikeable couple of spoiled brats.
Wall sees himself as a floor general but after 8 years in this league his decision making is terrible.
Still no clue as to what constitutes a good shot, lazy and untimely turnovers, Beal tunnel vision, it's like he's a rookie out there at times.
It all started out well enough. The ball moved, Wall accumulates 6 assists while getting everybody involved in the first quarter and if not for an extremely uncharacteristic shooting night by Rubio we're headed for blowout city.
Then the stupid switch flips again and we're back to the incredibly overrated duo wanting to prove to everybody how badass they are.
Watching Wall hold the ball for 10 seconds while Beal runs through screen after screen in an effort to take a shot late in the shotclock makes me want to hurl my laptop against the wall.
Morris, Porter and Gortat all had incredibly efficient shooting nights and combined for 30 points on 20 shots, yet neither of them managed to crack double digits in field goal attempts.
Watching Wall and Beal crater this team with their selfish and at times uninspired play on the defensive end also makes me seriously question whether Brooks is the right guy for this team.
If he can't implore on them how their play is hurting the team, how can you expect him to have any credibility with the rest of the team?
The most frustrating thing?
This is a continuation of the Wizards play from the second half of last season. The playoffs glossed over those deficiencies like all was well, but this pattern from last year is continuing to play itself out this year.
This team is close to breaking my spirit as a fan.

Laughing my tail off at those screens! I guess no ref has the guts to call those so why not just tackle and trip.

Tell em....
If you didnt see Stephen A go in on the Wizards it was Great. Cliff:
- Wall and Beal think their great and they have proven nothing
- Beal is one of the most Anti Clutch players in NBA. Cites 21% shooting from 3 and 67% at FT in Crunch time
- Scott Brooks needs to draw up more plays for Otto and also Oubre
- DC deserves better than this

They deserve it, and not because of their play, but because of their loudmouth talking acting like they've done **** in this league.
Wizards are among the biggest disappointments up to the halfway part of the season.

Stephen A is correct, these guys have no business "playing down to the competition", this is a core that's never entered the playoffs as higher then the 4th seed. Where does this mistaken arrogance come from?
Also, that's pretty bad for Beal to have your clutch time stats read out one of the most nationally watched sports shows. But he has been the anti clutch this year.

In the context that you had 3 days rest and had lost to then by 45, it really is a 'take a dive of a cliff" type of loss.

Wow, that's the first time I've genuinely enjoyed Stephen A. Smith. That was an epic rant! And he is exactly right. The Wizards play like they've "arrived" even though they haven't accomplished a damn thing in this league. It's embarrassing. It makes it really hard to be a fan.
They just lost, at home, to a Utah Jazz team that has lost 9 of their last 11 games without Gobert. Get your act together Wizards! This is a pro-league because it's supposed to be filled with professionals. Act professional!

All this "clutch" vs. "anti-clutch" stuff is just more metaphorical BS having nothing whatever to do with winning/losing.
At 6:20 of the 2d period, Wall re-entered the game for Satoransky. We were up 43-36.
He turned the ball over on his first possession with a lazy pass, giving Utah a lay-up on the other end.
Then he turned the ball over 40 seconds later with another lazy pass, again giving Utah an uncontested lay-up on the other end.
Then, 20 seconds later, he dribbled up court & missed a 3point shot 7 seconds into a possession.
Then, w/ under 3 minutes left in the half, John proceeded to take 5 of our final 7 shots & miss all but 1 of them.
In that 5:40 stretch, we had the opportunity to extend our lead significantly. When the half ended, I muttered to myself "no way we'll win this game."

Lots to complain about last night's game... but this final play isn't a reason.
Wall was a decoy... which drew a player. Otto faked to JW which made the decoy plausible.
Otto made a dang nice pass to Beal who, thanks to Gortat's only-semi-felonious screens, had a chance for a good look.
The real story here is Mitchell. What an incredible close out!
The guy REALLY impressed me last night. I knew he could score, but he made good decision after good decision... and the effort and athleticism he displayed on this play was first class.
In Rizzo we trust

Too cool for school is how it's seemed for quite a while. They're not good enough to think they don't have to play hard to beat ANY NBA team. Swag is nice, but like nate said - they haven't won anything. At least play in a conference championship game before acting like you're hot stuff. Even some of the backups act like they're too cool to play meaningful defense. 23 turnovers against a depleted Utah team... that's disgusting and unprofessional.

Agreed, its the thing that drives me/us mad. We have 86 FGA per game, and i think we all wonder how good we would be if we had the following breakout:
Beal: 17
Otto: 15
Wall: 12
Oubre: 10
Morris: 8
Gortat: 7
Scott: 8
Sato: 5
Meeks: 3
Mahinmi: 1
Obviously, there is some small dispute here and each game has its own life... but if we took 4-5 shots away from Wall and gave it to Otto, Scott, oubre, etc. we would be much better off
