So i think more and more and more Black and Brown People are waking up to this bullcrap in their communities. they are tired of it. They dont want policies that will help "keep them down." Instead they want better pathways to success. better family values. Policy that encourages families to stay together to raise their children.

That was a huge part of the republican tax cut. To double the standard deduction from $12-24 k. This way a low income person is encouraged to work than to accept Government handouts. If you combine this tax cut with entitlement reform, you will encourage less poor people from having children until they are older, hopefully employed, and more ready to stay together as a family unit and live a happier and more rewarding lifestyle. And more and more and more and more Black and Brown People are seeing it this way.

So I see eventually more and more Black and Brown like Larry Elder, Candace Owens, Diamond and Silk, Thomas Sewell, and even Kanye West will experience more and more success. and become part of the republican party.

and more stuff a Russian bot would say....

You wasted all that time posting more right wing garbage that no one here cares one iota about... but let me throw you a bone and see if you can not veer into a completely different subject. .

Name me one policy measure being pushed by trump that helps black families and their communities. - and no, doubling the standard deduction while simultaneously taking away state deductions for millions doesn't count and neither does slashing entitlements to "encourage families to work and have less children" smh. :nonono:

Because all see you and your ilk talking about is cutting more entitlements and what Black folks real problems are. So instead of telling what you think our problems are, and telling us what we don't need... tell me in actually policy terms what will be done to positively make a difference.

ok back from work.

1. doubling standard deduction is not some light weight move. It's huge. So lets start here. You dismiss it. Why? It really is huge!!!! The reason they chose $24,000 tax free is because that the typical single mom with 1 child receives in about $22,000 in entitlements for NOT working. Now she makes $200 more per month and also qualifies day care. This is HUGE. The old number was a miserable $12,000.

But that's not the be all end all. Most of my assistant and office assistants are single moms or moms with a partner. They are seeing an average of $150.00 per check for the low end help and my higher earners are keeping around $250.00 per check. I write the damn checks. I know! Given the new tax rates, the sweet spot is right around $62,000- where people will only pay about 4200 in taxes!! Thats pretty fantastic. My assistants earn 28-55K so these are good numbers for them.

2. Trump and the GOP also significantly decreased the tax amount. This is equally HUGE. the next $10k is only taxed at 10%!!

3. Then from $10K-38k is only 12%!!!!!! Huge savings for the working poor to working middle class. Instead of sitting at home collecting entitlements!!

4. All of that doesn't matter without jobs! Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! So we have massive tax savings at the low end. Huge and we have record low unemployments. Black, Brown, White, across the board!!! record lows in unemployment!! Why?????

5. Because he is shutting down the borders. kicking undocumented criminals out. Which helps put the working poor to work!!! Undocumented immigrants compete directly with the working poor for jobs!!!

6. he brought back manufacturing jobs. nearly 500,000 manufacturing jobs created!!!! and Obama had already brought our economy back from life support and barely gave the economy a pulse (finally in his 8th year in office and spending 6 trillion). Trump created the $6 million bionic man! With simple policies. 1. He closed the border and 2.negotiated to bring jobs back.

7. the jobs came back at record numbers to create record low unemployment in part because they lowed the corporate tax rate which repatriated trillions. Not billions . trillions. Yes it saved corps money but our corporate rates were not competitive so companies have brought their money back from oversees. and those same corps have announced huge pay rates. bonuses. and new hirings.

8. That same repatriation of funds sparked a huge run in the stock market. which helps all the mom and pop 401K's.

I bring all of that up because it has brought hope back to neighborhoods like mine. This stuff is really working. i see it because i have multiple small businesses in Black and Brown communities. I still have an office today in the neighborhood i grew up in. My people have money to spend again. And it all began around january 2017. Since then, each month i keep breaking records from the month before at my dental offices. far exceeding the numbers from 2006 and 2007. These are almost entirely Black and Brown people that have been coming to my offices for nearly 18 years!!!! Putting off much needed health work for nearly a decade!!! Also getting smile make overs. getting rid of dentures that you set on the night table at night for permanent teeth supported by dental implants. And in some cases, just pulling teeth that have been rotted and infected and causing major health problems. They would not show up for years! They are all coming back now!!

Adding to that point, insurance benefits are increasing again!! we have NOT see increases in nearly a decade. benefits were fading since 2008. Obama!!! hello!! I'm not making this up!! its real, bro. Unions can negotiate for more health benefits when the corporations are making more money. thats just the way it goes. And people get raises. and more people get jobs. Thats where we are at. And the working poor and working middle class in large cities are mostly Black and Brown folks like my family.

So the trump effect has been huge!!!! massive!!!

I dont know how better to help children than by giving their parents more jobs and more money to perform those jobs?? And Trump has done that in spades.

I asked for policy, not a rehashed one-sheet with made up numbers and more opinion!!!

Your people are seeing an extra $150-$250 a check making 28 to 55k??? LIES!!!!!!!!!!!

Half your bullet points deal with the awful tax legislation passed. You ignored the state deductions being wiped away. People in many areas actually will pay higher taxes now because of this.

The rest are lies & rehashed versions of what you said 1,000 times already. As if we lived in the dark ages until Trump's wonderous light set us free the bastardization of American civilization. That sounds like something a Trumper would say, lol.

The economy only turned around once Trump took office, right? You'll never change one person's mind to see your point of view with responses like this.

see. here is why no one believes you and why no one thinks you just want a "thorough investigation" because:

1. For nearly 2 years we have had exactly that. a thorough investigation. Obama's entire intelligence apparatus was "on it" starting in June 2016. FBI, CIA, NSA. ETC. And they all had an axe to grind. They had their jobs on the line!!!! and still no collusion. Now the house and senate intell committees have been at it for 1.5 years. And mueller has been at it for 1 year. That's as fuqqing thorough as it gets!!! STILL, you(and many others) wont accept that no collusion, however minuscule, has been found. None. Trump has not given Putin a thing except maybe a handshake and a glass of water on his visit to the white house and Trump has not received a thing either. not even a free round of golf at kremlin putt putt...heck not even a two-bit, pre-mixed moscow mule in a red solo cup.

2. yet, you and pointgod and others post daily about some kind of leak from the investigation painted in such a way so as to make Trump or the GOP look bad.

So you dont actually want a thorough investigation. What you really want is a never ending investigation so "dirt" keeps coming up and getting leaked. thats want you really want. Arrows to sling daily. Isnt that what you do??
You come to the politics thread to sling arrows every day???   See, that's what you really want. So just admit it. You dont like trump. you are mad that he won. and you want him to lose in 2020. and you want the GOP to lose the house and senate. and you just want to win.

Just admit?!

I've never tried to hide it.

Do I like Trump? Nope. I'm not partial to people who think those who look like me all have AIDS and should stay in their huts.

So yeah, **** him. Sorry

Am I mad he won? Obviously.

Do I want him to lose in 2020? Obviously

Do I want the GOP to lose the House and the Senate?

I'm a liberal Democrat so why would I WANT the GOP to retain control of either house?

Admit it?

I'll scream it at the top of my lungs.

I am fundamentally opposed to damn near everything the GOP stands for.

I hope that was clear enough for you.

doing my best Mcconoughey. "Alright. alright. alright"

See now THIS I can work with. Wasn't that liberating?

So when you sling some collusion arrows tomorrow and the next day...just simply stick with this same honesty policy and you will get no push back from me.

With each arrow you sling, Simply state something along the lines of,

"i know this arrow is complete effin bullshxt but...i hope it sticks."

or

"in my own little corner of the world, I hope that this arrow hurts Trump (however slightly) just a little bit more than the last arrow"

or

"God, I know this is more complete utter bull crap, but it sure is fun making stuff up...and its a (good cause) cuz I hate Trump"

and you will get no push back from me. from anyone really.

Now this where you've misjudged me.

I'm not bringing up collusion merely because I disagree with Trump's policies.

I'm suspicious because this administration has consistently behaved suspiciously imo.

If they are innocent well then that's fine.

But IF there's some genuine "fire" with this smoke well....

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

you clearly dont understand the tax plan. My State taxes in my state are capped. and not progressive. so nearly everyone maxes out around 1500....mostly people pay 900-1200. many states are lower. What that means is that my state charges "poor" people way more money that wealthy people. That is elitist. and its wrong.

Liberal states like Illinois, NY, and california are expensive and charge way more!! Why should the federal government subsidize the citzens in the more expensive states!!!!??

let me rephrase. Why should a guy in Montana, who's state and local taxes are minuscule get less of a "write off" on his federal tax return!!???

just because so many people decide to live in expensive states!!!?? They deserve a bigger write off on their federal return???!!

Makes no sense. unless of course you live in an expensive state. Which also happen to be "liberal states." So really, this whole entire point about deducting state taxes from your federal return is merely more politics from the left. They want their big expensive liberal states taxes in NY and Illinois to be subsidized by the tax payer in Montana and Wisconsin. Sorry not fair. and I live in illinois.

yes, a few of my people are seeing $150-200 tax breaks per check. but they are moms with 1-2 dependents, filing as head of household claiming 2-3 earning around 28-32K. My accountant says they will pay virtually no federal income tax! and still get money back for child "credit.' last year those same employees were have 15-20% withheld for federal taxes. My accountant used to work for the IRS. he knows what he is doing.

So trump is saving them money. they are AA. so what else do you want trump to do??? Take a photo with Beyonce???

You'll have to settle for kanye. :D :D :D :D :D :D

I can only imagine that Nate33 feels some vindication that the only person on the board that aligns closely with his political viewpoints is our resident dentist, SD20. This is indisputable evidence that the rest of us are on the wrong side of history.

But i get it. when there are Multiple trump victories stackin'.... its...well...it can be hard out here for pimp. for da cadillac and gas money spent. n a whole lotta biotches jumpin ship!! Mutliple very positive reports on economy. Black and Brown people doing very well. way better than under obama. And now many of them are "jumpin ship" as conservative.

i live in illinois. 3.75% i think. I'm no tax expert. in general the midwest states are low. and the coasts are higher. Mn, IA, n WI being anomoloies that are high. not sure if they are "capped" though?

and i guess we are significantly lower than california and NY. who are 13 and 9% respectively.

but the point is why should an expensive state's residents get more federal write offs?
in theory the fed gov spreads the fed dollars around about the same...i mean they dont. states like NY and California always soak up huge amounts of federal dollars. so the resident in a well managed conservative state has to not only pay federal taxes to subsidize those living in liberal states, but also not get as much of a federal write off...solely because their state does not manage itself well and therefore has higher state taxes??

Thats like a triple whammy.

1. pay the same federal rates but most your federal tax dollars go to other states.
2. get less write offs on federal taxes.
3. all because the conservative government in a thrifty state spends less money (and in theory has less government funded "services.")
4. And possibly even a quadriple whammy because local taxes and sales taxes (in same well managed conservative state) might already be higher in terms of "value" in that the taxes collected on the local level fund the government adequately so as to not need funds from the state. Which is what allows the state to have low taxes to begin with and the federal "write off" much less necessary.

And this guy...in small town USA gets less of a federal tax write off????? All because his state and local government functions better????

makes no sense. at. all.

Oh, STD, you lie like a rug. In comparison to federal dollars spent in any given state, the rich liberal states on the coasts generally pay more in Federal taxes than the poorer conservative states in the middle. Thus, the rich liberal states subsidize the poorer conservative states. I got no problem with you and yours being subsidized, except when you tell your blind followers that the opposite is true and they become enraged by that silly and easily disproved nonsense.

PS: That ain't gonna change, because Trump is so much the swamp, I'm gonna start calling him Twamp.

I challenge your theory on its face alone.

If what you say is true those liberal states on the coast would have lower state taxes. Because in theory they would not need the money.

How was it the liberal California and Michigan for example are on the verge of bankruptcy?

I’m going to need to see some numbers here.

So what you're saying is: A = A and B = B, therefore, A = B. Precisely. That is what is known as a syllojism.

Monte has this one right - although it is more based upon urban living vs. rural living. The per capita spending is listed here - you can click on the revenue per capita column and see that is the case.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_tax_revenue_by_state

And here where you can see the state dependencies on federal spending:

Now, the second question asked was - Why are California and Michigan ((for example are on the verge of bankruptcy?

(The $20 trillion federal debt gets more attention but the $5 trillion in State debt is probably a tougher issue - they can't print money). .

And Michigan is actually trying (https://www.forbes.com/sites/patrickgleason/2017/06/30/illinois-california-ignore-massively-unfunded-pensions-but-pennsylvania-michigan-take-action/#379860f420f0)

The answer is:
1) Medicaid
- More people (ACA) and rising health costs
2) Unfunded pension liabilities
- Collusion between politicians and public unions
3) Prison industrial complex
- Tough on crime & war on drugs (you can just use STUPID acronym)

And stupid is what stupid does. You can look at most states and see huge problems - regardless of if they are controlled by Rs or Ds.

For example - Scott Walker attacked 1&2 but was personally responsible for the expansion of 3.

Or you can look at large cities - mostly controlled by Ds and see that they caused 1&2.
