Brooks you moron this one loss is on YOU

It’s just completely unfair at this point how he lets Ish play and the short leash he has on Matthews. This game was lost with dumb rotations throughout. Sitting Gafford for extended periods, letting Bonga play at all (again that dude needs to either be G Leagued or let go), let Ish go shot hunting when he’s literally been ice cold all season.

But all in all, this game was truly lost at the three point line. Not only were they going vessel from three but we were missing great looks all game long until Beal made a couple close at the end to make it interesting.

Ish Smith over Matthews? No Gafford in the third.

Gill more, Bonga less...

Exactly.

Still a great game - as were our last 2 losses.

Otoh, we didn't take advantage of a game where Middleton didn't play, and Giannis was at half speed. Gave up way too many open 3's.

And Neto was an inch or 2 away from making the play of the season.

I'll head over to the Bucks board to see what they say. They love Beal, btw.

Russ always collapses to the rim thus all the rebounds but why the rest of the wiz not covering perimeter?

Heat might secure the 7th seed
They should be by he hornets
So we have to beat the pacers and hornets then back to philly
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft
mike, hakeem and Barkley on the same team!!!!

Connaughton hit two threes. Forbes hit one all ina little over a minute with around three minutes remaining.

Beal and Westbrook are typically looking to score late; and I think this is why the Wizards don’t make stops late. There’s only so much energy to expend. They play heavy minutes.

Teams are killing the Wizards with threes.
Bye bye Beal.

But are they really clutch? When game is theoretically out of reach he is blazing hot......game in the balance....shaky at the line and missing open 3s.

Clutch is last 5 minutes. Game in the balance? It's not just about game is tied or you are down with seconds left. What else do you want from the guy. That was clutch, hitting those shots in the fourth quarter. Has he always been clutch? Of course not. I said I would have rather had Westbrook had the ball against Dallas in the last-second play.

Sure, but they didn't have Khris Middleton and were coming off a very difficult game against the Nets. Still should have won, but didn't get enough stops.

They probably win if Mathews(+6)played a couple more of those completely forced Ish Smith(-5)minutes. Gafford only playing 14 minutes is just criminal.

Game was "theoretically out of reach?" What the hell are you talking about?

Beal makes BIG shots to give his team a chance to win and still the haters gonna hate. :nonono:

The three headed center thing works against the lesser teams but it’s clear to me that when we play the top half of the league, Gafford needs to play 24-28 min per game. To me, he’s the difference maker right now that takes us from a average team, that cleans up against the lottery bound squads but only with a punchers chance against playoff caliber squads, to a team that can truly beat anyone on any given night. Unleash the Gaf!!!
Just let the young boys play! It's truly the only hope at this point.

I'm glad the Bucks squeaked this one out but now I'm hoping the Wizards win out and get in the playoffs.

I am a Russ fan and have a soft spot for the Wizards since I lived in DC from 87-91.

Yep, after the Wiz' last 15 or so games, I'm on the Wizards bandwagon. I'm really wanting you guys to make it and shake things up the way you're playing. It's fun to watch.

Just looking at the minutes distribution should get our moron coach of the month fired:

Ish 22 mins (2 pts, 0/6 FG) vs Matthews 12 mins (8 pts, 1/2 FG and great defensive plays).

Lopez/Len 34 mins (5/10 FG, 10 reb) vs Gafford 14 mins (4/6 FG, 10 reb).

As they won’t fire Brooks, at least someone from the front office should impose a hard limit on the playing time of Scotty favorite vet pets. For the love of God, Gafford and Matthews have a future with the Wiz, the vets don’t!

From 5:35 left in the game to 3:45 left in the game, we went 4-8 from the free throw line. That was the game.
