That isn't even what a said. RIF

Secondly i realize it is a difficult concept for you to grasp but you can elect not to watch a vid without announcing to the board that you consider it a waste of your time. Did you ever consider that it might be insulting to the guy who thought it was good enough to post?

Maybe you should announce to the board your time limit for vids so we can post only those vids that conform to your preferences.

A *whole lot* folks pre-anointing Tre as the savior & star of the Wizards. Meanwhile, he hasn't played a minute in the NBA yet. Which means, of course, that if he doesn't start off gang-busters, we'll see an immediate reaction in the other direction, ala "Brad, he's a bust, Beal" in his first year or so.

Look you. Off-season /Preseason is for hope. There’s plenty of time to come crashing down to earth. No need to pee on the embers of joy before they can even flicker.

Right you are! Go Tre go!

Also... take a look at what I just put in the lineup thread: I want Tre starting as soon as possible this season!

I remember when people were saying Jeremy lamb was better than Beal after summer league.

Beal & Porter were “busts” on this board after their first and/or second seasons. That’s why I can only laugh when some posters here have already decided that Bub, Sarr, George, and Bilal are “awful” players with no hope of getting better.

Tre Johnson is up to 199 pounds according to Dawkins:

Read on Twitter

At the combine, he weighed 190.

A strawman of course... Bub, Sarr, George and Bilal are young players that weren't very good last year.

Two different things: Bub, Sarr, George, and Bilal were awful last season and Bub, Sarr, George, and Bilal could evolve into very good players - or not. One can point out that they were awful last year and not be a hater. Just sayin'

That is different from those that like or don't like Tre at this point. Although, I most on the board are excited to see him in his first season and think that he will be better than Bub, Sarr, George, and Bilal in their first seasons.

Either way, this 100% all-in or putting those in the category of haters isn't helpful. It doesn't but it doesn't accomplish anything other than suppress discussion (this is an opinion).

I dunno. Zards only points out that fans are quick to judge and want instant results. And that History counsels patience when it comes to rookies and teen rooks in particular. If you read the Dawkins thread, and the Bilal thread some suggest that this front office doesnt know what they are doing because the guys they picked are not yet winners. And forecast a long future of losing before Ted steps in to fire this mgmt.

Zards says he laughs about it, me too but usually by picking a good tussle about it. Ok maybe I drive away discussion by being too willing to bark when someone shakes a stick. But to me that’s engaging in discussion, to say ‘hey I bet you’re wrong because: facts, stats, and’ —and some long winded metaphor that takes too long to tap out on my phone so probably loses the train of thought halfway through.

(Especially when autocowrong makes edits I miss).

Maybe another view. Any criticism if met with vehement disagreement. Pointing out that Dawkins has been good but not perfect meets with hostile pushback. Suggesting that the youngsters were bad last year is only met with but "how do you know they won't be good" (a strawman). It is just meant as a tool to limit debate on these short-term transactions (IMO).

There seems to be the notion that the rebuild should be met with Pollyannaish posts only. I don't see many of the best outcome, worst outcome and realistic outcomes from this type of debate.

If someone points out that many of the youngsters may not be very good - sacrilege! If someone doesn't like the signings of Kuzma & Kispert - well, we got a second round pick out of the mess (while ignoring the open cap space may have yielded us FRP(s)).

The generic (remember when some said, "xyz") is just more of the strawman arguments made to handwave away a post.

Okay, really EOR.
