My one observation is that it Bruno Fernando is an NBA first-round pick he is going up against some really really good (perhaps better?) players who are not projected first round picks.
One kid let him up today.
Yeah, Bruno is nowhere near ready for the NBA. I'm starting to question Turgeon's ability to develop his players. Next season has to be dramatically better.
My opinion:
What the majority of the fans are saying about Turgeon is true:
--he is poor at developing players
--his team's underperform
--the Terrapins are not ever going to get significantly better as long as he is coaching
++He runs a horrible offense
++His big men never ever get any better
Ruzious, after saying all that
I would still RATE him as A Slightly Above-Average Coach. I think he's a really good guy. If you look at the bigger picture his players do get drafted.Mark Turgeon has been a pretty damn good recruiter
Sunshine Jake Layman is still in the NBA. Diamond Stone did not want to go to class so he paid the price. People lied to him and he did not get that first round selection did he? Melo Trimble took his talent as far as it will take him. He had a triple double in the G League the other day. In all scouts give attention to MTs players.
Alex Len is getting paid large.
Bruno Fernando is probably still going to get paid large...and I agree he is nowhere near ready. I tweeted to Bruno that I think you should stay but he's got to do what's best for him.
***I still think Maryland's Justin Jackson is better than the one that just got to the NBA from North Carolina***
I don't really care what happens with Turgeon's contract.
Let's see what happens with his recruits coming in next season. He deserves the opportunity to coach that team that he recruited.. if both Fernando and Jackson return that team could be a beast!!!
Mark Turgeon has been a pretty damn good recruiter. Kevin Huerter has a chance to make it to the NBA.
The Terrapins could do pretty well in the Big Ten Tournament you never know.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
