Like the crude, dense, bellowing, blowhard who thoroughly mismanages accidental leadership, the condescending, ignorant, petty rich boy is a character out of central casting. And both are always sniveling cowards. Like Trump, Kushner is literature brought to life.

You have no issue with US citizens having to sleep on the street while you provide free room and board to non US citizens
You preach gun control but trade an arms dealer responsible for thousands of deaths for a basketball player
Desantis will have his hands full when he moves into the WH in 2024
yeah but obama was the one who arrested viktor bout whereas bush actually bought supplies from him for the iraq war, so... checkmate.

The Bush family should be indicted on war crimes stemming from WWII (they've had personal business relationships with the Nazis and the Bin Ladens). But instead of an opposition party, we get this:

Bush takes office in 2000, child poverty zooms.
The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, the number of taxpayers eligible substantially expanded by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and finally the credit was expanded substantially and made fully available to very low-income people for one year by the American Rescue Plan Act.
Those darn Democrats.

Remind me the cost of those forever wars and Bush and Trump tax cuts? I forget? Was it $12T+ and climbing? With geniuses like that, we should be in pretty good shape the next go around.
Remind me - who got us out of Afghanistan? I guess that would make the Ds and Rs equivalent?

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

At least to the degree that Trump loves the roar of the crowd, adoring fans, rabid Trump supporters, etc. Trump loves the masses that support him. Other than an extreme minority of super rich people who appreciate him trying to give them them even more money, nobody loves or even likes Kushner, and he routinely demonstrates his contempt for all people who are not rich like him.
Trump is Caesar, without the skills. Kushner is Nero, without the creativity.

I was watching the local DC TV newscast the other day (the one with Joe Clair) and they had two consultants on representing the two parties. The Democratic consultant said that Wes Moore should be the democrat's presidental candidate for 2024 when Biden steps down, which of course shocked the newscasters and Joe Clair. The Republican consultant said that ultimately, Trump and Desantis could and would be the ticket in 2024.
I think the Democrats better prepare for (a) Biden stepping down, and (b) going against a Trump/Desantis ticket.

Can we talk about these damn moderates?
"We've confirmed 74 women as federal judges during this administration so far," Herwig said. "That's actually more than were confirmed during the four years of President Trump's term or during the eight years of President George W. Bush's administration."

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXI
I think Kamala Harris would make a great President but based on her performance in the primaries she's not very popular, I don't think the US is ready to elect a woman president still. I mean, Clinton came pretty close. I think it would be interesting if Biden stepped down, we'd get a chance to see if any of the younger candidates gained any strength over the last four years. Is Buttigieg more popular now that everyone's more familiar with him? Can Beto gain popularity outside Texas? Can Kamala leverage her stint as the VP? Can Warren expand her reach beyond college educated professionals? Can Klobuchar be even more bland and boring, reaching across the aisle to appeal to all mediocre people?

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXI
If I start with the assumption Biden does not run, I find it really easy to shoot holes (NOT LITERAL)
in the candidacies of many of the typically discussed choices from either party. The safest prediction is that
someone will be elected POTUS in Nov '24.
An even bigger crapshoot, who will merge as Speaker and how soon or how many ballots
will it take. Just don't ask me to hazard a guess.
