You weren't wrong, Ruzious. You were right. Dombouya was wrong.
But... he may yet turn out to be right.

Assuming Paddy Mills starts on games that Kyrie can't play in, it'll be interesting to see if Brooklyn does better with Mills than it does with Kyrie. I hope they do.

The dudes in that weird Brandon Roy phase where if he's ok and on the floor he might be the best player on the floor that night but it's becoming so increasingly rare that he's ok and on the floor does it matter?Ruzious wrote:gambitx777 wrote:I have no interest in kyrie , he wakes up every day and says meh do I wanna do my job today? He is fun to watch. He has an effortless swagger to his game that reminds me a little of Manu Ginobili. That left-handed cross-court pass was remarkable.
His shooting form is terrible though.

He really should have been our pick. He looks like a guy who won't get played off the floor in a 2nd round playoff series. Sadly, I don't think I can say the same about Kispert.

Mmmmmmm, to be honest: he looks a better prospect than Kispert. Particularly on D...
Let's hope Corey proves the doubters wrong...

For the life of me, I can't figure out how this guy lasted until the #36 pick in the draft. I definitely would have taken him with our #31 pick. As I said in the draft thread, I'd much rather have Butler and Mathews as 3rd string depth instead of Neto and Todd.
Man, these highlights dispel the notion that he is more of a combo guard rather than a true PG. He looks great on the pick and roll. And we already knew he could defend.

Man, we coulda had Butler, Mathews and Murphy as 3rd string PG, SG and SF instead of Neto, Kispert and Todd.
I could definitely see Butler and Murphy as quality starters on a playoff team a couple of years down the road, and Mathews as a 25 mpg rotation player. I'm not sure if any among Neto, Kispert and Todd are destined to be starters who can stay on the floor in a playoff game.

Which 5-man unit is better?
Our 2nd stringers:
Holiday
KCP
Bertans
Kuzma
Harrell
Our our would-be 3rd stringers if we had made the right offseason decisions:
Butler
Mathews
Murphy
Avdija
Bryant

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 7
Nate, I’m with you on Murphy. I preferred him and Duke’s Jalen Johnson over Kispert. Gotta agree that Butler would have been the better move over Todd, at least short term. It remains to be seen however what the Zards have in Todd. Long term, taking a chance on Todd could turn out to have been a brilliant move by Tommy. Todd certainly has the raw tools. Does he have the work ethic to maximize them is the question.
I don’t consider not resigning Mathews a significant loss. I’m not as high on him as some of you.

Yet again, team “Conventional Wisdom” knocks it out of the park with Jared Butler being our pick at 31.
Is conventional wisdom always right? Of course not, but it’s right more often than not. I wish more GMs used it on draft day.

Yup, I love the way he plays, and he was actually the 40th pick. McBride was 36th and is somewhat similar. I guess the heart health issue had something to do with his drop, but he was cleared, so he must be ok. I think it's crazy he lasted that long, and that's something a good GM should pounce on. Actually, it doesn't even take a lot of smarts to pounce on something like that, imo.

In a seven game series, I take the third stringers. And next year they would win in a sweep.

In no world does Harrel beat out Bryant for minutes at center when he's healthy !nate33 wrote:Which 5-man unit is better?
