Carson Wentz is off books after this season.

That's 28m right there.

Yea, but I think they overspend on a free agent QB like Jimmy G or Geno Smith. That's just my gut feeling. They're not going into next season with Heineke as the starter.

I hope your gut is wrong. We are a much better team with Payne and Heineke than with Geno Smith.

That’s probably true, but I’m sure Sctt Turner wants to be able to use his entire playbook and he can’t with Heineke. You can tell the entire playbook was open when Wentz was quarterback. He has to scale back because there are throws that Heineke doesn’t make on a consistent basis.

As of 12/12/22 the Commanders have a 72% chance of making the playoffs per

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/upshot/washington-commanders-nfl-playoff-picture.html

If they win the Giants game, the probability goes over 90%.

Beat NY and lose the next three and STILL have a 59% chance.

All is still in their control even if they lose to NYG. Any two wins out of the next four increase their odds over 80%.

Bottom line: 9-7-1 will very likely get in the wildcard matchup.

I wonder how much longer before Chris Paul is ready to contribute. Could this be the week ?

He’s a little small, but I’d love to see an innovative Guard around double reverse where he ends up throwing a no look pass… as long as it’s not a bounce pass.:)

They don't need to make the playoffs. They need a better pick so that they can draft a real quarterback. It's literally the only thing holding this team back.

Sam Howell I believe is possibly the guy. Also the commander's should be trying to win it all this year because that all but garunteed the sale of the team. No unfinished business then peak done.

I'm torn. Happy Snyder is selling which might encourage me to openly root & support the team again but I find most Commanders fans so damn unlikable. Especially reading twitter where its just a cesspool of stupid opinions. At times i really want to mute Commanders fans on twitter after reading another post about a fan hating Heinicke's guts and how Wentz would make us light years better.

I personally think Howell is who we should be starting but Wentz is not better than Tyler. Not at all. Especially when he did enough last week to win that game. The refs **** him twice.

Bad shx about to happen. We will lose the last two with Wentz under center. He can elude the rush or make quick enough decisions to play behind this line

It’s Wentz time, though.

Taylor melted down.

At this point start Howell if he's healthy. Wentz is trash and if you have no faith in Tyler enough to bench him start the young buck the last two games and see if you have a starter.

It would definitely be a gamble. With the playoffs on the line, this would be a rough spot to throw a rookie into.

The dream scenario would be for the Commies to clinch next week and have Howell start week 18
