Cousins and Gay are balling. One guy who's really putting it together now is Ben McLemore.

Darren Collison at PG has done even better than Isaiah Thomas. He's more of a distributor and he's athletic. He defends. I didn't think he'd be an improvement over Thomas but he has been.

Did Derick Rose just say "it popped " when limping to the bench?

WTF were the Kings thinking? How can they vacate the space under the basket? Only a tip in beats you in that situation.

I'm listening to Dave Joerger, Memphis coach. He says Alvin Gentry ran the play against him. He stole the same play that Phoenix beat them three years ago in a game he coached as an assistant when Lionel Hollins was at a funeral. In this case the coach designed that play because he had seen it work against him.

With the win the Grizzlies have the best record at 8-1. The Raptors lost to Chicago.

Pau Gasol of old tonight, 27pts 11 rebounds in the win over Toronto.

Wish we had Dave Joerger.

Memphis is lucky to go from Hollins to Joerger.

Pau Gasol looks really good.

back to being tied for 1st place in the loss column. Also, people criticize us for not beating great teams yet but the one plus we have in our favor is that we are the only undefeated team in the East at home. Those teams can say they have great records but all there hard games were at home and theyve lost some and theyve even lost some to bad teams. We havent yet. Im glad to see the Raps get spanked at home by the Bulls though since some of them were clowning us after their win like we werent legit. I even saw a Raps fan on the Bulls forum before the game saying that this game will be their 1st true test of the season.

Collison isn't an improvement over Thomas. Thomas is straight balling right now, 605% TS to 530% on much higher usage. Collison also is not a better distributor either. Isaiah Thomas has a higher career AST% and even though Collison is posting his highest AST% since his rookie season, it's only equal to Thomas' AST% right now. Their defense is about equal too.

The Kings improvement falls squarely on DeMarcus Cousins improving on both sides of the ball (especially defensively... I said he would need to do so in order for the Kings to start winning) and Rudy Gay finally playing up to his immense potential. It doesn't hurt that the Kings are getting to the free throw line at a ridiculous rate due to Cousins & Gay relentlessly attacking.

Rose actually looked explosive at times last night. There were moments as a biased observer who hates the Bulls, where I thought "oh sh*t, once Rose gets his timing back the rest of the league is in trouble because the Bulls are loaded".

Then he gets hurt yet again last night, and even though it's only a hammy apparently, I'm not as worried anymore.

Rose may have his athleticism back, but he's delicate as a wallflower right now.

Yeah, I was watching (and why no team trainer went to him after he clearly hurt himself is a mystery to me), and while - like you said - there were some moments of explosiveness, it wasn't the same Rose. He couldn't put 2 consecutive explosive moments together. At some point, the sports talking heads will focus their time on comparing and contrasting Rose with RG3, and I'm going to have to get another hobby.

Watching early in the first half, I thought TOR was going to take this game even though Gasol
was scoring at will, so was Lowry. Hard to say which would have been more advantageous
to us.

I'm...incredibly underwhelmed. Usually, Christmas jerseys really stand out. Ours look pretty much identical to our normal unis.

Wouldn't have minded some sweet sleeved Xmas jerseys, to be honest.

When Phoenix ran that play- there were .4 seconds on the clock so there was enought time for a catch and shoot whereas in this game there wasn't enough time for a catch and shoot. Bad coaching/bad execution by the Kings. They have lost consecutive games after winning the 1st quarter by 18 points or more.
