Dude, you went to bat for the tax cuts. You simply cannot pretend to be a deficit hawk while simultaneously supporting this administration and the Republican legislative agenda.

It’s depressing that voters don’t seem to care about debt and deficits. There’s only a small minority in congress willing to make cuts so that means there will be no cuts. There’s more support for tax increases but that’s not going to happen either in this administration. I posted a question here about a year ago asking for investment opinions given a stalemate of taxes and spending. It seems to me that eventually we are going to have to print dollars to pay ever increasing interest costs. Do you see any alternative? If not, where’s the best place to invest in this kind of environment?

It's too nuanced for your average, non political junkie to care about. Having a balanced budget amendment would decimate the world economy. Anyway there's a certain amount of deficit that we get for free as a reward for being the awesomest economy on earth. But we're definitely on a path to disaster that both sides of the aisle are guilty of. I hope this game doesn't end in massive world economic collapse. But I don't see a path to daylight from here either.

No, she's a lousy character in this farcical reality show. It's EVERYTHING that's gone on the last year and a half - including the idiotic way he responded to her. It's f'n ridiculous. Every day, it's more childish shyt. You'd have to be an ass-clown fool not to see it and a wasted human being not to care.

I’m supposed to care about all of these distractions? Is what I care about:

1. Jobs! I want more jobs than those looking for work.

2. Because the scarcity of Labor will increase wages naturally.

3. Trillions that are overseas to be repatriated so as to collect taxes on that money and those businesses that are registered outside of our continental borders to avoid our income tax system. I want it all repatriated.

4. I want manufacturing to return to the United States so as to have even more jobs here and more corporate income here in the US so as to collect even more taxes here in the US.

5. After everyone is back to work I want our entitlements cut as well as reduce the cost drivers so as to reduce our fiscal costs and our nations debt.

6. Rebuild the military. And charge all of our allies and the rest of the world‘s nations significantly more as a weed police the world. The burden of keeping the entire globe safe should not be put on the American tax pair anymore. We need to make everybody else pay. Take a cut of the oil? Whatever? I don’t care. Make them pay.

All of this palace intrigue? I’m not convinced this is something I should care about like at all.

But I do understand that that is all the left has to complain about the Trump administration. Palace intrigue. Palace intrigue. Palace intrigue. They’re fake Russian hoax has been exposed. So let’s just get back to calling everybody on the right a racist. That’s all you got to win elections. Which should tell you everything you need to know about your party and your platform. It is devoid of ideas. You’ve got nothing. The last eight years of Obama not only gave us nothing but doubled our debt with nothing at all the show for it except a massive racial divide. Thanks Obama.

Agreed - and what is soooo silly about this latest stimulus is that it was absolutely not needed. It leaves very little wiggle room for the next recession. Tell me (rhetorically) what part of this curve needed adjustment?

This one is for all you School shooter hawks.

Remember the two guys and three women they arrested in New Mexico last week with 11 children living in absolute squalor? And the 3 years they found dead at the compound? Yeah I didn’t think you would remember them. CNN didn’t tell you about it and has you fixated on Manafort and omaRosa. Anyway they were training the kids to become school shooters. A liberal judge in New Mexico let them out today saying they are not a danger to the community. Libs judges ftw!!!

So you have the unintended consequence (when you add inflation to that curve and you get):
https://www.bls.gov/news.release/realer.nr0.htm

Production and nonsupervisory employees

Real average hourly earnings for production and nonsupervisory employees decreased 0.1 percent from
June to July, seasonally adjusted. This result stems from a 0.1-percent increase in average hourly
earnings combined with a 0.1-percent increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners
and Clerical Workers (CPI-W).

After combining the change in real average hourly earnings with no change in average weekly hours,
real average weekly earnings were unchanged over the month.

From July 2017 to July 2018, real average hourly earnings decreased 0.4 percent, seasonally adjusted.
Combining the change in real average hourly earnings with a 0.3-percent increase in the average
workweek resulted in a 0.1-percent decrease in real average weekly earnings over this period.

Now I without a doubt believe this.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos allegedly said the students who booed her May 2017 commencement speech at a historically black college didn't have the "capacity to understand" what she wants to accomplish, according to the tell-all book by former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Manigault Newman describes DeVos' comments during a conversation with her after the May address at Florida's Bethune-Cookman University as "meaning, all those black students were too stupid to understand her agenda."

Manigault Newman trashes DeVos throughout the book and calls her "woefully inadequate and not equipped for her job." She alleges President Donald Trump referred to the education secretary as "Ditzy DeVos" and promised to "get rid of her" after the Bethune-Cookman event.

In the book, "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House," Manigault Newman also blames DeVos for confusion around an annual conference in D.C. for historically black colleges and universities, which the administration downsized in September 2017. She writes that DeVos was the "number one driver for cancellation."

So he needed someone to tell him no "N-word" tapes exists.

Ponder that for a moment.

Wrong again gtn. I generally support the Corp tax cuts but I think it was a huge mistake not to include an alternate minimum tax. I think the individual tax reform was misguided in many respects. Some good stuff and some dumb stuff. Mostly dumb.

As far as “supporting this administration and R legislative agenda”, I support those policies that seem rational to me. I assume most posters here do the same whether in the Trump, Obama or Bush administrations.
