I think the sweater would go well with the kilt. Perfect gametime attire.

I love me some John Wall but I think the perspective of the picture makes
it look more impressive than it probably was in reality.

With the rim in the foreground and Wall's head further in the background, I think the perspective actually detracts from the height of the jump. Wall's head might actually be above the rim, or really close to it.

Antawn Jamison. Nene. Emeka Okafor. Al Harrington. Paul Pierce. Drew Gooden. Garrett Temple. Michael Ruffin. Cartier Martin. Martell Webster. Josh Howard. Kirk Hinrich. Mo Evans. Et cetera.
What do all of these current and recent Wizards have in common? They were all dubbed "high character" guys by Ernie Grunfeld. Having them around was particularly important as counterweight to whatever band of eccentrics or romper roomers were playing a central role in that particular Wizards team.
So we could talk ourselves into overpaying -- both in acquisition cost and salary -- for guys like Jamison, Nene and Okafor because there was a tone that needed setting and a culture that needed to be changed. We could justify roster spots for guys who didn't really deserve them so talented young boobs could hopefully learn from an example of workmanlike humility. Essentially, the Wizards had to devote resources -- roster spots and cap space -- to guys that other (better) organizations did not.
We are about done with that thanks to John Wall, and to a lesser extent (for now) Beal, Porter, etc. Ted has always been vocal about the importance of one's best and highest paid players being the most coachable and accountable. We have that in Wall. So what does that mean?
I think that means that with John running the locker room in years to come, we are going to be able to afford to fill out the roster with some younger and/or higher upside guys that we may have eschewed in the past. Getting the next Patty Mills, Branden Wright, Aminu, Kosta Koufos, Nate Wolters, Troy Daniels, whomever could be the difference in a playoff series.
John's play is great. John being a mature and awesome leader is going to reap hidden benefits in the coming years. Go JOhn.

It may not mean that we'll go after young up-and-comers in free agency, but at least it'll mean that we'll no longer have to pay a "character premium" on our free agent signings. Instead of going after a really well-regarded veteran guy like Emeka Okafor, we can just add a much cheaper (but just as effective) Samuel Dalembert for a third of the money because we know we have the type of locker room that can keep Dalembert's iffy attitude in line.
(Note, I'm not saying I want Dalembert. I'm just using him as an example.)

I'm just happy that we showed patience with Wall and allowed him to develop into the star he is. Many impatient people(won't name names)wanted to trade him for pennies on the dollar but a talent like that needs to be nurtured properly.
It's weird that the Wizards are starting to turn into one of the better organizations in the NBA. Hell they're the 2nd best franchise in the city now.

I wonder how much those overpaid high character guys made John into a high characer guy himself?

.
If you want a photo for the night to use as your avy, I've cut down Devon Still's collage into suitable size. The photo looks like this:

Wizards’ John Wall remembers Miyah, his 6-year-old ‘little buddy’ who passed away from cancer
“It’s just another angel that God put behind me.”
Those are the words of Wizards star John Wall, who opened up more to Comcast SportsNet’s Chris Miller about his friendship with a 6-year-old girl named Miyah Telemaque-Wilson, who died Monday after battling lymphoma. Wall went on to have one of his best games ever that night, but broke down during a postgame interview with Miller that would eventually go viral.
Wall was able to keep his composure this second time around, as he spoke about his young friend whom he says he looked up to as much as she looked up to him.
He even shared some funny stories, such as the one time he posted a picture of Aaliyah, the deceased R&B singer, on social media. Wall says Miyah asked him if that was his girlfriend and said that she hoped not because she wanted to be his matchmaker.
