Speaking of setting a low standard, since when is a 8 point 2-5 performance with 4 rebounds in 27 minutes considered a good game?

What an awful foul, let's see if the refs have the balls to give the Hawks the freethrows.

Terrible call by the refs, are you kidding me?

Josh Smith took the worst of all shots at the worst time.

The refs let Boston foul, get away with a dead ball foul and not have the Hawks go to the line, and the Celtics gangstered another win.

What I'm going to remember about this game is how bad, dumb is over-used, how bad a shot Smith took at the end. Also, I hated Larry Drew's coaching at UNC. He didn't consider Marvin Williams to get an open look at the end. He left Hinrich on the bench.

Drew coached very poorly at the end IMO.

Bynum is constantly late getting back on defense. Won't get much of a chance having a defensive impact if he's always lost in transition.

He's also quite clueless against the double teams, surprising the Lakers haven't found an answer for that yet.

The Lakers frontcourt has gone from being a dominant tandem of highly skilled players to a couple of bums.

Gasol has been absolutely non-existent and Bynum is basically just taking it easy out there. Getting out-hustled and out-worked. And to make it even worse, I'm not convinced he actually cares.

He has checked out. He has his 2 rings, I doubt he cares.

Lakers are getting blown out similar to Game 4 in Dallas a year ago. Kobe is having an efficient game despite the illness but he has been the only guy to show up.

Denver WILL win Game 7 in LA on Saturday Night.

I guess I'll be *that* guy who posts the McGee statline tonight...

2 points (1-5 from the field / 0-0 from the line)
5 rebounds (1 offensive)
0 assists
1 block
1 shot blocked
5 fouls
20:21 of court time

As most of us have been saying, JaVale McGee hasn't changed. He's still the guy who will go out and dominate one night (while people marvel at his skills and athleticism and proclaim him to be one thing or another), then be almost invisible (or even detrimental) the next game.

Can he still be a great player? Absolutely. Not many have ever questioned JaVale's potential. We've questioned his BBIQ and consistency.

Going to be tough for the Lakers to bounce back from that one.

Their offense is a disjointed mess and everybody outside of Kobe looks athletically overmatched by the Nuggets young legs.

I didn't think that losing Artest would have much of an impact on the Lakers in round one, but it really seems like they could use his energy, attitude and hustle right about now.

I think the Lakers will still take game 7. They're not going to lose twice in a row at home and there's a significant precedent for teams bouncing back after a terrible performance the game before.

The Hawks need to go ahead and trade Josh Smith. The late game bonehead shots he took last night are normal for him. His love affair with long 2s isn't going to end.

He has enough talent that they could get a lot in return. Maybe some other team will believe they can get his shot selection under control.

I posted an article from the Denver Post which stated that Denver tried to trade Nene for Smith or Horfod and got turned-down. Sorry I don''t have the link and quote handy

My buddy thinks the Lakers are intentionally throwing these games to work off the Artest suspension. The Lakers will win Game 7 and Artest will have served his entire 7-game suspension in time for Game 1 against OKC.

Wow, you are pretty confident about the Nuggs winning, it's hard to imagine the Lakers losing that game-7 at home.

I don't know. But he felt compelled to call me and leave a message on my phone to inform me of this Lakers conspiracy.

Well, we already know we can't count on the NBA's accounting firm (Ernst & Young?) to get things right. They actually screwed up the DPOY award by giving a vote cast for Andrew Bynum to Andrew Bogut.

I'm very confident. Nuggets have heart, athleticism and hunger. The only guy on the Lakers who has shown that is Kobe Bryant and Denver's gameplan is simple. Let Kobe get his 30-40 points. Triple-team Bynum and get him frustrated and checked out of the game. Pau, Sessions and the others will not beat you.

I am a little concerned that Ron Artest will be back. He may actually help the Lakers a lot. But, I'm still very confident Denver gets the upset and moves on to OKC.
