Hey CCJ, i know we dont see eye to eye often, and im a huge Wall defender. But i think you might be right.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

That kid will be better than John Wall, if he isn't already. He already competes HARD at both ends. Shot is money if he's open. Looks better finishing with his off hand that I imagined. Has no problem finishing near the rim. Plays above the rim on defense. Had a couple really nice blocks. His handle could be tighter and he's not going to beat guys with one-on-one moves.

If Beal were a little bigger, I would say he could be a superstar some day. As it is, he looks like he's going to put up 20 ppg by his 2nd or 3rd year in the league. That kid is GOOD!

Wall is going to make Beal look very good and vice versa. Beal shoot get a lot of open looks playing with Wall. As for who will be better, if Wall becomes an average shooter, he will be a perennial All Star. I hope beal is better than that. :D

Here's what I gleened from the Wiz first Summer League game: nothing. It meant nothing. I couldn't tell anything about anyone - not Beal; not Tilley; not Vesely; not Jenkins; not the guy selling popcorn.

You are so cynical. That was obviously our best popcorn guy.

As far as what you can take away, another poster said that it doesn't mean anything if you are great in summer league. Los of players have a great run in summer league that never amounts to anything. I think it may mean something however if a player sucks in summer league. Think of it this way, if you look good against less competition in a less structured playing environment, that probably doesn't mean much. If you suck against lesser competition, it might actually mean more than early regular season struggles. If a player looks the same as he has always been, and looks like you expected, he may be just that.

Beal looked how he looked in college and how we hope he looks in the NBA. Does that mean he is going to score 22 a night on 14 shots. Of course not.

Mack sucked. Mack sucked last year. Mack probably will continue to suck once the season starts.

I don't make too much out of Vesely's performance. Those jumpers could easily just be an outlier.

MJ had one hell of a draft and he's had a very good offseason so far. MKG is the real deal and I will say probably the ROTY.

Thomas Robinson had 8 turnovers for the Kings SL team, but he's going to score and rebound a bunch before his career is over.

CCJ -- I heard MJ isn't making the decisions anymore. It's Cho, or whatever his name is. I think he's doing a helluva job so far with the Bobcats. He got that lotto pick for taking Gordon's contract, added MKG, and he's probably going to add Sessions. That team is going to be much better next season.

I like who MJ has making decisions more than who Ted has making decisions. I'm not trying to continue to pile on EG, either. Cho is on point, making great moves, and he's heading in the right direction for sure.

Jordan Hamilton is playing well. He's the guy I wanted at #18 in 2011.

Beal is not already better then Wall but he is more polished then Wall was in his first year. But Wall is a PG. There was a lot for him to learn. Most important of those things was to learn to use his speed more effectively by changing speed. Beal doesn't have that problem. His game translates a lot better. He can basically play his same game and he will be effective. And since he already has an outside shot, he can pull that out. But Beal doesn't have to learn how to run an NBA offense.

Learning NBA PG is a lot harder then SG for a pure shooter who defends well. Wall had a lot more on his shoulder coming in. Beal really has very little pressure on him.

I think Wall is going to be a beast this year. All star material. Where I expect Beal to be a solid contributor. Which is fine. That is all that is expected of him his first year. They will have enough SGs that he will be part of a 3 man rotation. While at PG, Wall is really all we have.

But if he does it again tonight, you start to have a pattern.

Sure the games mean something but what it means for any individual player needs evaluated and put in perspective.

For Ves, hitting wide open outside shots count for something. Hell, him even taking the shot counts for something. Open shots from a tall player with a high release works against summer leaguers and works against legit NBA talent. So those shots from him do mean something.

For Beal, you just want to judge his all around game and comfort. I was most impressed with his defensive motor. He really chased through picks well. He blocked a couple shots. One was on the perimeter. Very nice. If he can play defense like that and hit an open shot, he is solid gold. That will translate to real NBA games so it means something. Tonight I want to see a few more rebounds.

Mack. Meh. I want more then Meh from by back up PG.

A good backup point guard isn't going to give us 45 wins, but if we are on the playoff bubble, it could be the difference in a win or two. Mack is awful. I wanted to give him a chance but I hate guys that don't create for their teammates. Hell, JW doesn't always create enough but he's learning. And now he has better teammates he can trust. I noticed Singleton yesterday was frustrated he was not getting the ball. Now he is just Chris Singleton but I'm sure he felt he could put up 20

Tomas Satoransky is awesome. Nice pick there for you guys and with Beal, Washington has something really nice cooking.

I said this in the other thread, but I believe Josh Akognon could be better than Kemba Walker or Jimmer Fredette, being significantly better than the latter.

Akognon is one of of the most explosive scorers his size I have ever seen.
